Will music from the movie play in stores/on the radio?

A few weeks ago I heard some music from Trolls playing in a store. They also played Let It Go. Do you think the same will happen for the music from the movie? I doubt it. Most of mlp songs are show specific. If you played them standalone they wouldn't make sense.

I don't think they will play the songs the mane 6 sing on the radio, but they probably would put the songs Sia sings on the radio.

I didn't think of that. But yeah the mane six songs will probably be to specific to the movie to be enjoyable to non bronies.

They'd either play a generic tune that you hear in the background--not an actual song--or another remix of the main theme rather instead of one of the new songs in case they don't want it to be spoiled. That, or they feel no other song will work as a means of promoting the brand.

Depends on the movie.. I dont think we'll be hearing EQG songs on the radio but we could probably hear the song Sia is going to sing for the movie this year  

...here's hoping that actually happens, it would be cool asf XD

The Sia song is a strong possibility. Also, although they won't play any songs sung by the characters... they might if Sia or someone does a remix of it for radio play, much like Disney does with some of their songs for their films.

Given Sia's involved, it's all but confirmed that if she did a song for this movie, it'll likely be done in such a way that it can be a single (and probably with the obligatory "music video that involves scenes from the movie music video")

 

It's a common practice with these films that has actually resulted in a few good hits (see also, "Can't Stop the Feeling", "Happy", etc.)

 

Who knows, maybe Hey Ocean might do something for it too for obvious reasons

Yeah that makes sense. It might be the only song that won't obviously be an mlp song.

It was more common back in the days that MTV was relevant (i.e. Kiss From a Rose had both a standard music video, and one that was Batman Forever-themed), but now it's mainly for the kids' birthday party mode on the music video displays at your local bowling alley.

Oh I didn't know about that. I just always thought it was pointless. Little kids really won't know who these singers or bands are. So including live action footage seems pointless.
