I think that we should start thinking about the next case already, seeing the first one is slowly wrapping up.

I'm not yet sure how your toons decide to keep in touch, that would be a major factor. But I think my bats can come into play as faux detectives - since they moved, no serious crime have knocked on their doors and the pile of bits they made in Manehattan is starting to thin out. So, they decide to reach out. By catching a small fish and buying a way into the crime world.

A public bounty notice after an elusive burglar would do the trick, since that's their specialty.

I figure that if Saffron dose not take Richly up on his offer, Peony would become his theater's sponsor. That way those two will stay in touch. Maybe the intro can be the waitress we cured would have somepony steal from her and she comes to us to help retrieve her things.

I'd be fine with having some continuity between cases. Gives them a bit more to go on during the case itself.

Anyway, having Peony act as a sponsor to Saffron would make sense, since she has the resources for it, but I'd imagine it would be done in secret unless she has some way of convincing her parents that it's a shrewd investment. In any case, it would ease pressure on Saffron and give him more of a reason to stick around, since he'd feel indebted to her, and their investigations give him a good source of inspiration for his work. So really it's a mutual arrangement.

I'm thinking that the bats could present themselves in as 'specialists' and insist that their area of expertise would make them too invaluable to pass up. Basically just trying to take advantage of their inexperience while also getting the opportunity to learn more first hand about the differing classes/city sections. Just a suggestion of course.

Crystal would bite Saffron's neck off if he did accept.  She's rather passionate about these things, after all.

I like the idea about the waitress. A valuable family heirloom of sorts would be worth putting up an investigation. And as far as my characters go, I'll think of a way to add them to the crew in a logical way in that scenario. They can, for example, be called in to change the locks in her place.

Now I've read your IC post and I find it rather confusing. So the Garden scene ends when Peony tells the guards her version, in order to resume at, like, a Guard station or something? Or the captain is present on site and Celestia decides to drop by and say hello?

Okay, that makes sense. So I guess Crystal will get "peeved" at the arrest, and I'll just park her on the sidelines in this turn. Not much for her to do, since the guards would no doubt help *Peony walk to the carriage.

So that leaves two dumbfounded ponies. Dark Horse, we pack our tons into that carriage or?

A little dumbfounded, perhaps. Nevertheless, I think at least Saffron should assist her in finding the cure, probably as a way of paying her back for her hospitality earlier. Don't even necessarily have to make a big thing out of it before we move on, but if the two intend to stay in touch it would make sense not to just leave her to sort herself out and all.

Makes sense. Crystal also has business to coming back to Peony's mansion - her tool cart. So maybe the carriage leaves in a hurry since everypony is too busy looking good in front of the Princess, and our characters suddenly are left to their own devices, and take a walk to the aforementioned locale?

It seems like the most logical step for Crystal to turn down the camping trip. She won't risk her life for a few more bits, and being an outsider, she has no other agenda in earning Peony's gratitude.

But I have a solution. If the remaining cast decide to go, they can decide to hire a mercenary/guide. My other OC, Natural Order can be conveniently in an Inn where adventurous types gather. She will be on the cast only till they come back to Canterlot,  and go her separate way. Next case would feature my bats as already discussed.

That's a fine idea by me, if you feel like you wouldn't mind slipping into another OC temporarily. It wouldn't be completely out of nowhere either since the Everfree is pretty dangerous, Mercenaries like Natural Order would be aware of that and so have themselves 'on-call' around the local inns. Wouldn't need to spend too long being brought up to speed either since a job is a job, no need for intricate details and such.

Alright. Since Raven has setup a nice little scene within the Inn there, I'm thinking we say our goodbyes to Crystal and then transition to the inn a little while later. Saffron could express some familiarity with the area and suggest they begin their search there for somepony more adventure-oriented. Would set the tone that the work is about to become a lot more dirty.

I just wanted to provide some continuity in my narrative. One character leaves the scene and another enters. Crystal is still in town,  in case I run out of toons, somehow...

Natural will stay for a few days to rest and get reacquainted with creature comforts, so it's not like Saffron has to run to get her. A nice fast forward will do the trick methinks, with Saffron entering the inn sometime later.  I'm OK with skipping a turn if needs be.

I haven't thought about a nickname, all my other characters besides Crystal are much less complex than her tbh. Maybe that's why role playing her can be such a pain, literally so.

I do want to have this moment right after Crystal left and Saffron still there, for Peony's parents to come in. Give more a back ground to her. I am thinking right after Saffron meets the typical snobby upper Canterlot unicorns with mussels in the air, Peony could use that as an access to go look for a guide to the forest.

I am skipping turns till either of you get close to the tavern my character took residence in, or otherwise need me for something. Crystal is probably shopping in hard liquor alley and Natural just chillaxes in the common room till she decides to go back to her room upstairs. There's no reason to introduce my bats yet as far as I can tell, or cook up characters on the spot. I can do that too if needs be.
