For the Dwarves!

If there's anything that's missing from MLP, it's dwarves. The dwarves would still be ponies, but they would just be smaller, about the size of a foal.

Twilight and her friends are captured by a group of small, bearded ponies who take them to an underground city. There, they meet with King Earthtapper, who says that the ponies on the surface "ignored the hard work of the dwarves for too long". Soon enough, The maine 6 are put in cells while the dwarves prepare to invade the surface. However, the maine 6 are freed by a rogue dwarf named Clud Iron, who opposes the invasion and offers to help fight them.

This episode would be about treating others the way you want to be treated.

Are they going to sing cute little songs like Hi Ho It's Off to Work We Go, or the Oompa Loompa song?

If so, I might could possibly get behind this idea.

But only for the songs.

Dwarves are humanoid, so seeing them in the show is kinda unlikely... Though Pony Dwarves like you mentioned could work. I'd actually love to see an episode about Pony Dwarves, with the helmets, beards, accents... Dwarves are one of my favorite fantasy race, next to Elves, and Orcs.

How you described the episode, it might work but I'd give a better reason for why they revolted against surface ponies than that, to be honest.

I would like to hear about your reason as to why they would revolt.

Well, I was thinking they could sing something similar to "Diggy Diggy Hole" to show how good they are with metal.

Ah yes, earth dwellers: gnomes, dwarves, and other such creatures. I am of the opinion that these work in human-based fantasy because our bodies are versatile, and the sense of wonder comes more easily when we modify ourselves. However, when you have animals as exclusive sentient inhabitants of your world, then creatures like dwarves do not have the desired effect because people won't see the differences between normal beasts and dwarf beast as meaningful unless they do not belong to the same animal species. People can care for the difference between us and dwarves. Convincing them they should care for two slightly different breeds of chicken when the birds behave like humans is another story. And we already have pegasi, unicorns, and alicorns that look far more distinct than some miniature earth pony. It's a waste of resources unless these "dwarves" are altered into something new and exciting. I'd rather just develop diamond dogs and dragons as treasure hoarders of the earth.

P.S: Can we stop making weaklings overpowered for shitty friendship lessons? Much appreciated.

who are you referring to as a weakling at that? seems rather off topic and looks to be a flame starter or a troll attempt...

Littlest subterranean ponies armed with short axes and dedication. How many times must alicorns who can wipe a whole board of such small fry be captured by them to sate the lesson god?

Maybe Celestia is just getting old, because we have really only seen her fail...

Or maybe you should stop thinking inside the show and realize that there is no weight in the story anymore. Powerful demigod-like mages are shit because writers want them to be shit. Besides, Twilight and Cadence aren't old and they get Celestia'd just the same.

Caedence I am not sure was ever really made to be a "fighter" and I wonder if the changelings just got the jump on the crystal empire, im not just "thinking inside the show" I know there are a lot of plot dynamics involved with creating the character identities and plot lines... but are we referring to the changlings being that said of weakness? because like seen we know Chrysalis can be very cunning and is powerful enough to overthrow the ruler of equestria when hooves come down... I mean its not so hard to picture project rogue aspects to things, some people really just think they are ready for somethings that they arent.

I mean (this time) there was one for every street corner, a variant for every trustworthy friend, from town to town, to city to city... they just didnt realize it, they were overcome so quickly, and didnt realize replacements among them... instead of blitizing all unveiled, they carefully disguised themselves, one pony at a time...

Yare yare daze. So you really wanna take this form within the show.  You see, it's not that the changelings did it; it's that power and cunning have never been demonstrated on either side. The conflicts in MLP are not there to entertain and make main characters do cool things. These are just sacrifices of whatever lesson must be crossed from the list.

But I digress. Let's take it from within the show:

You are a changeling queen whose agents have managed to infiltrate every strategic position in Equestria and neutralized the opposition. Now, these agents would have learned all about Equestrian defenses and habits of their targets, which would mean that both Starlight and Discord would have been taken into account and neutralized with the rest of them. Or would you object on the premise that your agents are incompetent at gathering info about both Twilight and Fluttershy? There is no way that such a plan wouldn't be designed to account for ALL possible adversaries.

The other side is Princess Celestia who has been present on the Wedding. No matter how old and stupid she is, any leader would dedicate time and resources to the development of protection against changelings to ensure that such an assault by their forces would never EVER happen again. And she is not the only Princess. Luna, Cadence, and Twilight would undoubtedly propose such a project themselves and cooperate in building a solid defense network. We've seen the anti-magic security, and safety protocols for shapeshifters are a staple thing in SF and fantasy. Apply that shit.

There is no logical explanation for what happened in the finale. Either Equestria burns or is saved, not by a band of writers' pets but by leaders behind a chessboard. However, this conflict was never the main event. Starlight's lesson was the main event. Boring, explanatory, asspull-y friendship lesson. They have managed to create an atmosphere where defeat of Princesses and Mane 6 is not something outrageous but something ordinary, expected even. A side story not important enough for audience to see. The Elements and Rainbow Power took the weight away from their victories, and treating their defeats as plot propellant made those light as feathers. Do you think this is entertaining? Do you think this is sustainable on the long run? People get bored. People get frustrated. People go watch something else.

I dont want to be the guy to tell you that you are being incredibly over critical, but right now you might as well consider me that guy, because you are being extremely over critical. I think that for writers sake, yes it is bothersome getting predictable manufactured plotlines that undermine the characters we know and love but in the same vain someone would be complaining equally as much if we got more of the mane six just winning with the elements of harmony time and time again, reform or no reform, and yes, obviously the changelings did enough research to get the jump on them, although they poorly diplayed their identites. what i dont know is how Discord wouldnt have known something was up when all that magic wasnt present anymore, but witnessing the power of Discord, it is not shocking as to why they could not suppress him. second, heres the deal, the changelings have YEARS of knowledge on Twilight and her friends and even longer in regards to Celestia and Caedence.... it is not surprising as you believe, also, they greatly underestimated Starlight, remember Chrysalis arrogant words...?

Being overly critical? Why I'm just demonstrating the morass that is the in-show path to madness. Everyone wants to apologize the boring plot as something that is understandable in regards to characters that are now nothing more than puppets that act in a crisis without any form of a positive heroic pattern. They just win cause friendship or get rekt cause plot. No middle ground to make them look cool in the eyes of the audience.

And as you said: winning with Elements and friendship all the time is bad. Wanna know what's equally bad: selling FIM as something more than slice-o-life and not developing your main characters into heroes that can make do without such asspulls. No, instead you have to bring another team to do the asspull. So refreshing. So new. Wow.

P.S: A Fluttershy changeling could have easily lured Discord to the hive where he could have been properly neutralized. He's not exactly the brightest bean in the pot. And since Twilight (read our glorious writers) couldn't stop praising Starlight's magical ability throughout the season, don't you think agents and Chrysalis herself wouldn't include that into their equation? They didn't because there weren't any changeling agents to begin with. Writers captured Mane 6 and Princesses and magically teleported them into the cocoons. No struggle. No cool fighting scenes. Just sadness.
