It was a simple and quiet night in Ponyville, as most nights were. The streets were empty and everyone was in bed, save for a few odd night owls. Or at least that was how it seemed.

Sparker the dragon silently walked through the apple orchards on the outskirts of the small town, or as quiet as a dragon could be. Looking around he found a low enough apple hanging off a tree branch. He wasn't able to fly at the moment as he had hurt one of his wings being chased out of that previous town. Once he reached the apple tree, he snatched the apple and ate it a startlingly fast pace. It was then he heard the sounds of two voices, 

"Are ya sure ya saw something Big Mac?" A feminine voice said.

"Eeyup," a deeper male voice said. "It looked like a dragon." Sparker's eyes widened as he started walking away from the voices.

The female snorted. "I reckon y'all are going loopy."

"I'm tellin' the honest truth, Applejack," the male one said. At that point Sparker was fast walking, hoping to get out of there. Sadly, he stepped on a loose branch and alerted the two ponies to his presence. 

"Who's over there?" The female voice shouted. "Show yourself!" Sparker decided to run instead. Quickly, he dashed towards the town, as it was the opposite way. He hoped there would be no one awake.

Crimson was out for a late night stroll to air herself out after having a few drinks at the inn she was staying at. She had stopped in Ponyville for the night on her way to Manehattan, and was planning on leaving first thing tomorrow.

As she was strolling through the streets, she just so happened to get in the way of a certain fleeing dragon.

As Sparker ran through the quiet streets, he wished upon the stars in the sky that his life would get better soon. But when he looked back down he ran straight into a pony he'd never seen before. 

"Oof!" He grunted as he tumbled to the ground onto the poor pony below him.

Crimson staggered back and fell as the dragon barreled into her from out of nowhere. "Jeez, watch where you're going!" she said as she picked herself back up and dusted herself off. Crimson certainly wasn't expecting to see a dragon anywhere outside of their homeland, so it was even more of a surprise than it would have been.

Sparker looked up to see the red earth pony in front of him. She seemed both surprised and angry at the same time. "Oops," Sparker said. "Sorry!" It was then he heard shouts from behind as the two ponies from before came galloping towards him. Sparker quickly turned around to run, but accidentally ran straight into the wall of a house!
