Been pleasantly surprised by episodes this season.

So, there have been three episodes this season that I thought would be bad, but turned out to be good: Flurry of Emotions, Parental Glideance, and Royal Problem.

What do you think? Have you been surprised at how good these episode were?

Fuck yeah, most of these episodes have been pretty good at least, and the worst ones aren't bellow of decent, and there are only two so far of those.

Only episode I actively disliked so far was Honest Apple. Even Hard To Say Anything, my feelings towards it have eased up, and most of my issues were merely the result of some jokes not working. But for the most part this season so far has been a colossal improvement over S6

I actually really liked Honest Apple, but then im a massive Rarijack shipper, still I thought it was a pretty damn fun episode and the best for that pair in a while. I always had a pretty good feeling for Hard to Say Anything... because I actively really hated all the stuff it's lambasting already and I just had a laugh at the entire concept of MLP basically having an episode entirely dedicated to "by the way Beiber, Boybands and stuff? they really suck" over any real moral (while yes there WAS one the real point was "fuck those things")

 

The only one I thought was meh was Fluttershy leans in cause nothing freaking HAPPENED in it outside of telling us "yes S6 Fluttershy is how we are going to characterize her from now on!" Which yeah that's nice to know since I vastly prefer S6 onward Fluttershy to prior Fluttershy but their could of been a lot more around it. 

Im just  gonna say though, the moment i saw that Kristin and Songco were the heads for this season I was really confident it'd be really solid aside from Hooffields and Legends of Everfree (and lets be frank, working on Equestria Girls seems to make EVERYONE'S skills worse expect for McCarthy on RR and weirdly enough Berrow on Dance Magic which I thought was better than ether of her actual episodes and had some of hte best characterization for not Sunset or Twilight characters in all of EQG, especially Rarity after being flanderized in LoE she was flat out awesome and really the Rarity who freaking EARNED the fanbase she has in that one) everything they did was solid, one of the best track records of any writers in the show really, hope they stick around for S8 unless McCarthy comes back or something.

Well so far I haven't really disliked any episode either.

But than again I have been waiting for the US release and I have only seen up to Parental Glideance.

But on the other hand I have been enjoying this season more than season 6, so there's that.

I have been too, to be honest. I will say I have not watched two episode of the season and i did not like a Royal Problem, the rest of the episodes have at least been decent to me. Some have said that some of the episodes, like Fluttershy Leans In and Not Asking for Trouble are really boring, but I see them as relaxing. Very chilled out, especially Not Asking. I enjoyed Not Asking waaaay more than A Royal Problem. Flurry of Emotions was a pleasant surprise, the premiere episodes were both really good and Parental Glideance is one of my favorite episodes in the entire show now. For me, this season has been fine, for the most part.

I have not enjoyed most episodes of this season, but those three are certainly my favourites. "A Flurry of Emotions" surprised me by actually making Twilight goddamn interesting again, and despite my reservations, I expected "A Royal Problem" significantly more than I expected to. I also thought "Not Asking for Trouble" was fine, if not as much as I'd hoped. Didn't have much fun with the other seven.

Yea, I have enjoyed just about all the episodes.

Only one I could really say is "bad" and I mean its not bad is: Hard To Say Anything

There have been some MEH episodes: Fluttershy Leans In and maybe honest apple. 

I'm starting to like Honest Apple more though now.

 

As for the rest of the episode have been amazing! I was expecting this season to follow season 6 in cringfest but was surprised.

I actually liked Rock Solid Friendship, where Starlight makes an unexpected surprise major appearance in it.
