Why did Dash not tell her parents about Scootaloo?

Not telling Bow and Windy about being a Wonderbolt, I totally understand, given their......enthusiasm, but Scoots is like a little sister. (even officially so since season 3)

Going to go with "can of worms". Talking about Scoots would mean at some point soon afterwards introducing Scoots, her parents finding out about the RD fan club, all the mare-do-well stuff, and.... yeah. overreaction city.

Seeing how Rainbow Dash's entire motivation was to lay low when it came to her accomplishments, Scootaloo would likely have undermined that goal, and I suspect RD knew that.

It's like the scene from Ghostbusters when Egon says that putting the Key Master and the Gate Keeper together is probably not a good idea.

I thought Rainbow didn't talk to her parents at all for a while - especially since she "adopted" Scootaloo.

She knew Scootaloo would let the cat out of the bag. (sorry Opal, sorry Fluttershy) so she never mentioned Scoot to her parents.

She probably had little contact with them of course. Not wanting to be bothered by them, she ignored them until they finally were brought up.

Because in real life hanging around a little girl for no objective reason is kind of weird. She has no official or biological obligation too Scootaloo.

Actually I guess she has an emotional obligation since she acts like Scoots older sister.
