Zoop 8,384 November 30, 2011 Share November 30, 2011 Even if it meant making all of Equestria afraid of her. Even if it meant making all of Equestria afraid of Luna? I think her whole "THE NIGHT SHALL LAST FOREVERRRRR" bit did that well enough.
Lady Rarity Pony 4,894 November 30, 2011 Share November 30, 2011 Even if it meant making all of Equestria afraid of her. Either way, the popular theory is that this is why she no longer has the ability to use the Elements of Harmony. The fight with her sister disrupted the harmony in Equestria to an extent that she was unable to fully restore it herself, thus making the Elements of Harmony powerless in her possession. Well the elements of Harmony are now the mane 6...even Celestia can no longer use the elements on her own. LRP's opinions are subject to change without notice. Fees and penalties still apply. Feather Spiral 1,892 December 2, 2011 Share December 2, 2011 Maybe the Elements are like the wands in Harry Potter, they have "allegiances" (I vaguely recall the wand salesman's speech in the last movie). Once Tia and Luna fell in disharmony, the Elements "chose" to "abandon" them for good. But when the mane six set out on their journey and progressively proved themselves worthy, the Elements "chose" them as their next owners. I take writing commissions. cuteycindyhoney 13,336 December 4, 2011 Share December 4, 2011 I have a question relevant to this thread. Was Luna conscience during her banishment on the moon, or was she in a state of temporal and entropic suspension? I personally think she was in stasis while on the moon. To me this explains her being stuck with the old ROYAL FORM OF POWERFUL SPEAKING. Plus, being isolated for a thousand years would destroy any sapient being's mind. Luna would have been beyond reclamation after a thousand years of isolation. Does the Equestrian moon even have an atmosphere able to support pony life as we know it? How did the stars set her free. Did they somehow break the stasis so Luna could teleport back home? Am I over thinking this? I am a science fiction fan after all! 2 Thank you Sparklefan1234!!! Swit Swat 536 May 27, 2012 Share May 27, 2012 It's harsh really. I do not approve of moon banishment. 1 Don Mec. Lean x Cloud Chaser All You Need Is Love ~ John Lennon Signature made by Cloud Chaser Avatar made by Dragonshy
NavelColt 22,883 May 27, 2012 Share May 27, 2012 (edited) This is truly where Trollestia was born. Refusing to lower the moon is bad, but it's not worthy for a millennial moon banishment xD Though it 'did' say Luna turned into a 'Wicked Mare of Darkness'. However it never said what exactly she did other than refusing to lower the moon. It might be that she attacked Celestia, and Celestia was forced to seal her away. JhonHipster 124 May 28, 2012 Share May 28, 2012 Celestia should have been banished to the moon after Luna was freed for the pinishment that was 1000 years to long. lets hope this works
I used to be a stranger 7,994 May 28, 2012 Share May 28, 2012 1000 Lunar years is equal to ~74 Earth years. (1 Lunar year is equal to 1 orbital period (transitive from apogee to perigee to apogee), which is 27 Earth days. 1000*27=27,000 earth days=1000 lunar years. 27,000 Earth days is 73.923 Earth years) That wouldn't be nearly as bad as 1000 Earth years. Assuming, of course, the Lunar orbit in their world is the same as in ours. Since Celestia controlled the cycles of the sun and moon, it's likely the period of time of Luna's banishment was based on how much time had passed in Equestria.
