Is a chinese knockoff plush worth getting?

There's a 12 inch pony plush being sold for under $8,  but its a Chinese knockoff. The quality isn't that great, but ironically, its a bit better than Hasbro's licensed ponies. I'm really depressed and feel like it would be an impulse buy, but at the same time, I think the price is too good to pass up- even if I have no more room for ponies, and a collection large enough to be satisfied with.... 

Should I get it?

Hi. Like everywhere there are good and poor quality pony plushed. I bought for my son quite big princess Luna plushie from China. I and my son are satisfed:) I think that quality and price are OK. So if you want to have a new pony why not?

Some part of me wants to say because being a responsible adult means saving money (which I was never good at) and realizing that I have enough pony stuff, but that price....and I do really need a pick-me-up...but I also fear something better will come along

Buying by Chinese website you have lots of pony plushies to choose. So maybe buy not exactly plushie you have choosen but another one from this country. As you can see they are not expensive.

Is there an image of it? If it is actually better than Hasbro's offering, then I don't see why not, the only possible concern would be build quality.

I can tell you TWO things for certain:

One: I've got an alicorn Rarity, a Derpy with NOT-crossed eyes, and the magical Derplestia from buying the Chinese knockoffs; you never know for certain what you're going to get.

Two:  The prices are unbelievably cheap - and the three mistakes above are out of the 20+ plushies I've purchased; your chances of getting something worth your cash are actually rather good.

Plus, I LOVE my Discord plushie... which I got for a whopping $15.

I say go for it!

That said though, Alicorn Rarity should have the butterfly wings she had in the rainboom episode. That would be 20% cooler

As a responsible adult, you should save some of your money - but by the same coin, you worked hard for it so deserve to spend SOME of it on things you love - and if Chinese knockoffs are cheaper but will still scratch your itch, you are saving money there too

I should hope the Chinese knockoffs are good- I just broke down and bought Sunset Shimmer. XD Would have saved for an official one (if the quality was good at all), but of course, there isn't one, so...

I say if you want it, go for it! It really isn't that expensive, and besides- can you ever really have enough pony anyway?

My family got me a Sweetie Belle one (yes, my profile pic but I insert a bigger one below) for Christmas and while some things like the tail is very thinly attached and the hair does not stay down, there are plenty of positives. Nothing was inherently wrong (eye color, mane, and such) and she stands nicely even with that big head. The best part is of course I got her with a blank flank, but the material they use allowed me to iron on her mark with absolutely no burning or dis-coloring of the plush.

I got a Luna one too from them too and I LOVE HER! They may have a few stitches loose, but nothing much. Definitely worth it for the price, and I have three from them.

i have a whole shelving unit full of these plushies, so yeah go nuts. Hasbro wont ever make them on this quality thats for sure. Theyre in that level between Hasbro official plush and custom made. 

Sunset Shimmer is next on my list, BUT a lot of the stock photos Ive seen have had her missing her horn x.x

Ahh, I have that very same plush! Could I ask where you get the iron-on cutie mark? That's such an awesome idea - and it came out so nicely!

I just took her cutie mark vector and printed it onto one of those White T-shirt iron sheets you can find at any craft store. (If you use Word put on the ruler and make sure the mark is between 1 inch to 1 inch and a half to make it fit and reverse the image. Also you have the opportunity to print two. If you could see the other side of her flank I put on another mark as well. A little more show accurate). Anyway, just be gentle when ironing on the mark. Not too much pressure and don't keep it pressed on the plush for too long. However, I do worry I may have been lucky, and I'd hate for this to ruin your plush. Just be careful with the ironing and judge for yourself and you should be fine.

I got her as a birthday gift and rest assured, she DOES have her horn. She's a real cutie too
