Where Will The Movie Rank Among Hasbro Films?

As far as I can tell, theatrical films involving Hasbro intellectual properties are a mixed bag, in terms of critical and commercial success. 

So among these, where do you think the film will place among:

• MLP: The Movie (G1)
• Transformers: The (animated) move
• G.I. Joe ('87)
• The Transformers live action films
• Battleship
• G.I. Joe:  The Rise Of Cobra & Retaliation 
• Equestria Girls and Rainbow Rocks 
• Ouija and Ouija: Origin Of Evil
• Jem And The Holograms

in terms of critical acclaim and financial succsess?

I haven't seen many of those, but it'll probably be on the upper half of the list. It isn't exactly going to attain the level of success that live-action Transformers and Battleship reached. It'll seems to be getting more exposure than Equestria Girls ever did. And I remember Jem and the Holograms being almost universally despised. It was probably the worst reboot I have ever seen; that franchise is basically dead now. MLP will likely be a better money maker for Hasbro... it won't be pulled from theaters within a month like Jem was.

Definitely above the Michael Bay Transformers films by miles and somewhere in my top 20 films of all time (I admit it's not in my top 10).

Somewhere at the top between Rainbow Rocks and the 86 Transformers(with TF as the best). Personally as excited as I am for the movie I don't see it topping the 86 TF movie, which I love.

I bet it makes top 5. The only things that can beat it are Transformers and Battleship, and really comparing against those isn't very fair, as they had a lot more inter-generational appeal than Pony does.

I think they did a great job on the movie. Wasn't the absolute best, but it was very good.

I think if there's anything these last two years have taught me, it's that film critics are getting more irrelevant and aren't worth listening too. They only like things when it appeals to their insanely high standards or when they fit their agenda. I remember when Power Rangers came out, critics came on that pretty hard, yet a lot of fans ended up loving it. Hell, and earlier example, they also went hard on the '86 TF movie too, yet nowadays it's loved among the TF fanbase and is still considered the best TF movie by far(and put things into perspective, Bayformers 1 is actually the highest rated TF movie on RT, yet fans are pretty lukewarm to that one). Not to mention, they all said how great Feigbusters and Star Trek Discovery are, yet the fans and audiences despises those

The critic average may be in the low 62%, but that user average has been ranging in the 90s. And if anything that second score is more important in this day an age

It will likely end up being the best received movie on that list. EQG and Rainbow Rocks have 3 and 2 reviews each and weren't mainline theatrical releases and so I don't count them. The two best reviewed films on that list with actual tomatometers are the original animated Transformers movie at 55% and the fist live-action Transformers film at 57%. 

This movie has an excellent chance at beating them. It could also lose to either or both critically. Time will tell.

Financially? It will get creamed by all of the live-action G.I. Joe and Transformer films. Battleship to. It will beat Jem and non-main releases like the EQG stuff. It will beat the animated Transformers even after inflation.

There are a lot of movies now considered to be classics that originally got nasty reviews. Film critics tend to ignore whether or not they think a movie can stand the test of time, which I think is one of the hallmarks of a great movie. And understandably so, because 1. that's very difficult to predict that and 2. most moviegoers aren't going to care about how well-liked the movie will be in, say, 20 years. Who knows? A movie that reviewers dislike today could end up becoming a cult film in the future.

Financially it will disappoint compared to most of those. 

Personally, man ... Tough one. Transformers (1986) is so much of a classic piece of nostalgia for me ... so is the GI Joe animated film. It's going to take a bit to decide. It might not top Transformers (1986) for me.

Having finally watched the movie, yeah, this is pretty dead on

Above Rainbow Rocks, but below Transformers, the FiM movie was great but there were so many things that helped the 86 Transformers be a bigger deal and stand out
