Ponies (and various other creatures) are just how people look there. If they came though a gate to here, they would look like us, and if we went though a gate to there we would look like them.

Not really. I see human beings as another kind of animal that forms part of the ecosystem. So, when you say animals, I think "us" too. But it is not a matter conceptualization and rationale. My comprehension of reality comes from emotional intelligence. So the mind is secondary to the heart when it comes to understanding.
