Just had a problem that I ran into with my VM that I couldn't make my client computer join my local domain because I had to disconnect from my school's domain. Microsoft told me I was in a workgroup instead of a domain but still wouldn't allow me to join a domain because it had something to do with Azure AD. I had to google how to disconnect from Azure AD and it was in a really stupid place.
