Never getting your cutiemark

So, we see it in stories all the time, there is a pony with no cutiemark, they never found something they're good at, but is that realistic? Gabby was understandable, she was a griffon and we saw the foals that never wanted a cutiemark for awhile, but is it possible to never find something you're good at (as a pony)? Would that pony be criticized if he never got a cutiemark?

I don't think it's possible. Trouble Shoes has the special talent of clumsiness which I think we can all agree isn't an actual talent. There might be some room for debate however depending on what you consider a pony. The Horses from Saddle Arabia, Donkeys, and Mules don't have cutie marks, so you could look like a pony while only partially being one and thus never get your cutie mark, and maybe if you were orphaned and had no idea who your parents were you'd never find out why.

Don't know, you're bound to do something eventually that should result in one. Unless you're in a minimally conscience coma. It'd be interesting if a pony did obtain one during a coma though. They had some revelation in their own thoughts and that was enough. Be funny to see a nurse's reaction.

That's an interesting question.  A pony who doesn't want to have a Cutie Mark.  Who wants to be more of a free spirit.  Maybe someone will explore that scenario in the future.
