Jenna reminded "I'm just more of an priority because I know more than many other rogues." she walked in a circle, speaking in thoughtful manner "Entire village destroyed, fires, everyone dead, they claim airplane crash, I say dragon attack." "Increased Order activity in the east, The Order locating rogues at new speeds." she stopped walking "Talon has to be feeding information to the Order, I should have known their claws reach there too..." she thought for few moment, before cursing "This is very bad if I'm right." "And not just for us, let's say this is exactly what I think, that means that Talon has started a purge, they will quietly eliminate their biggest opponents one by one, while testing their new weapon, and after that, they will declare war on humanity."

Oliver frowned as he listened. He didn't like where any of this was going one bit. "So Talon is after you because you know their plans? Well, maybe it's good that you know, because we can use it to think of a way to stop them, right?"

"They are after me because I'm rogue like I said, I'm not special on that regard, the amount of effort they put into it is what changes." Jenna specified, not really an important detail, but a detail nonetheless. "But no, knowing it doesn't help at all, we are still under equipped and lacking in numbers." she stated in sad tone "The only thing we can do is to try to ensure our own survival, which is also hard." she took out her phone and send something to their contact again "I'll ask our ally if they can somehow warn the Order about incoming open attack, it's unlikely the Order will believe it, and helping one enemy over the other isn't really preferable, but in best case scenario they kill each other."

"You should want to live instead of just survive," Oliver pointed out. "You can't run like this all your life, you'll be miserable."

He waited as Jenna started sending a message. "Hopefully we'll get some breathing room from that."

"Too late for that, misery has been there since I hatched." Jenna stated in slightly downplaying manner "And it's not about what we want, it's about what we can get." she took a deep breath and with calm yet serious tone continued "We are not special Oliver." "Sure, compared to average rogue, who is 16 years old with no training, we have few advantages, but it's not other rogues we are going against." "Even with the weird mutation from my blood, you are still a squishy human, and my training? Talon has 100 others with the exact same training, and lot more with different training." 

"We have single ally, and they have tried to find others, to contact anyone that could help, but there's no luck." "We are three individuals against an international religious militia, and what is basically a secret world order, to use an idiom, the deck is so heavily stacked against us, that we didn't even get any cards."

"Sure, it's not exactly in our favour," Oliver agreed, "but that doesn't mean we can't do anything, right? We've still got options and maybe even those who can help."

He shrugged. "A small chance is still a chance."

"Yes, the option to survive." Jenna stated "We have already been extremely lucky to make it this far, that can't go forever, the luck will run out eventually." "That's why we need to focus on self-preservation over trying to save the world, because latter is not realistic for us to do." "Besides, win-win situation doesn't exist here, there is only two likely end results, either Talon wins, bringing Dragon supremacy and at best enslaving humanity, at worst wiping you out, or humans win, be it through Order or some other means, and we dragons will be hunted to extinction again." "Either way, hiding is the only means of survival."

"You should be able to live, not just to survive," Oliver said, frowning. "You shouldn't have to just hide and run all the time. I know there are human things you enjoy and you should be allowed the freedom to enjoy them."

"Life isn't fair." Jenna stated "I've accepted that fact long time ago." "And while I'm not exactly the optimistic type, there is one thing you need to remember, at least I have my life, many others aren't given even that luxury." "Not to mention the other option to dying, being locked up in a facility to make eggs until you die." she let out a sigh "To be honest, I don't know if I could live even if given the chance, it wouldn't feel right."

"It's a really bad situation," Oliver agreed, "but you shouldn't waste the freedom you have. There's still a chance we could free the other captives and they can live their best lives on the outside as well."

"Wasting is subjective." Jenna stated "I rather survive in hiding with someone I care about, than lose that someone in a doomed attempts of heroics." "Though doomed is understatement here, because we don't even have a starting line. Nobody but the highest of the leadership in Talon know where the facility is, not to mention the security that place must have." "The only reason why anyone even knows it exists is because someone at some point managed to escape before being transported there." "Though before you even suggest it, they are long dead, so no, we can't try to find them."

"Yeah, no doubt that place would be hard to find," Oliver agreed. He wondered what else they could do, then he realised something. "Wait a second. You escaped from there, right? That means you know where it is."

"No, I escaped from Talon yes, and I did live in a facility, but it was not the facility." "When I said nobody, I also meant myself." "I can't even start guessing where it could be, since Talon encompasses the whole planet, meaning that it can be literally anywhere." "Talon is also good at hiding stuff, so it is as likely to be in middle of nowhere, as it is to be in plain sight in the busiest place on earth."

"So they're spread out that far, but there must be some way to find where their main facility is, right?" Oliver pointed out. "Their bases must have a way to pinpoint where exactly it'll be, in order to contact it and stuff."

"Not necessarily, all they need is a contact to someone who knows, most likely whoever is in charge for transporting dragons there, no need for any locations, just a single phone number or other such thing." "Things are very spread out in Talon, for example, if I was to be captured now, the one capturing me would have no idea what happens to me." "They would bring me to a holding facility, and that's where their knowledge ends, the holding facility will contact whoever decides my fate, and that's where their knowledge ends, the fate decider contacts transport, and so on." "The fate decider knows what happens to me, but doesn't know where, and the transport knows where, but doesn't know what happens to me." "Everyone knows the bare minimum they need to know, nothing more."

"But phone numbers can be traced," Oliver pointed out. "They can lead you to a phone or a location where the call was made. With the right tools and knowledge, a really quick phonecall can be tracked."

He looked at Jenna. "I feel like your friend would be able to manage it."

"You are really underestimating them, you think if they could be traced just like that, they would have become a worldwide shadow organization?" "They have their own systems with all the latest scrambling and other such technology, been there tried that, only some information is traceable, and none of it tells the location, or locations, for such secret places." "I know this because we already have access to some of their systems, that's how our nameless friend gets the info they do." "I know you're trying to help, but remember who you are talking to, I was a Viper, I have been trained to infiltrate, track individuals and groups, and find information, I have tried the obvious methods already.

"Then try different methods," Oliver pointed out. "They're hard to find but they can't be impossible. They're around so they have to be located. They won't expect you to use ways to find them that they didn't show you, right?"

"One needs to come up with those ways first." Jenna pointed out "Besides, like I said, we are not special, we are not some movie heroes who will save the world, locating the place wouldn't do anything for us, so trying to invent new ways of locating it would be waste of time."

"Knowing where it is would be a start," Oliver pointed out. "If we know where it is, it'd be useful information. We might come across something or someone that could help us. You never know what'll happen, right?"

"Useful yes, but not so useful that it should be our priority number one." Jenna pointed out "It could also be harmful information, because Talon knowing that we know such information would make us even bigger priority targets." "We can't take on all the battles, we need to choose the battles worth taking."  "And the biggest priority now after we have rested is trying to find a place where we can stay longer than day or two."

"Right, good idea," Oliver admitted. "We need somewhere we can keep our heads down for a while. Somewhere not even Talon would think to look."

He looked at Jenna. "You sound like you might have some ideas."

"I don't have any specific ideas, but I have a general idea." Jenna stated "While cities and other crowds are good places to stay out of sight, we need to leave cities to be actually hidden." "Talon has eyes everywhere, so the best place is somewhere with no eyes at all." "Sure they have satellites and other technology, but they won't be looking at some random barn 24/7." "As said I don't have specifics yet, we need to rest here for this night at least, but what I do know is that we need to leave in the morning, call it a hunch, but I have a bad feeling about this."

"I guess so," Oliver said, looking around him. "I suppose you never know who might be working for them. I just hope we find somewhere safe to lay low for longer than a few days. All this travelling is going to get expensive."

"Money is least of my worries, everything can be stolen or otherwise accessed for free." "The comfort will just plummet." Jenna stated "Constant travelling brings its own threats for getting caught." "Moving target is maybe harder to hit, but it is also lot easier to see." "It doesn't matter how many fake names we get, eventually we are visible in enough places that they know it's us." she walked towards the bed "But enough of that, we need to sleep, next time there may not be a bed to sleep on."
