For me? I would say that it gave me something to look forward to most of the time. I love the cute characters in MLP:FiM. The pony art also makes it so much better for me.

Awww that's nice! I'm glad it could provide that for you! :squee:

It's actually profoundly affected my life.

  1. It led me to two of my three exes. One of the relationships didn't last but the relationship taught me a lot about relationships.
  2. It also saved my life. It cheered me up at a time where I was on the verge of killing myself at the time I was beginning to watch it.
  3. It also led me to find this community. There are plenty of good people here (although the list has been sadly decreasing in size since around 2015 or so).

MLP has helped me to be kind, caring and helpful to others. It's also helped me to really appreciate all of the things that I have now.

It's also helped me to be hopeful, even when times become difficult. About a year ago I lost my father. A week afterwards was the convention to Bronycon, but I didn't think it was right to go. My dad told me in his last request that he wanted me to go and have the most fun that I could. I promised him that I would do that and I would win a tournament in his honor. When I was in the vendor hall, I saw a Starlight necklace that I felt was calling to me. I bought it and wore it for the entire weekend. When I was competing in a gaming tournament, I held the necklace close to me and said, "Please guide me and please show me the way." When I was playing, it felt like my dad was watching over me. It also felt like Starlight was sitting right next to me, guiding me through the tournament. I managed to win the tournament, but I didn't care about the prize or the glory. I was just glad I was able to do something nice for my father. Ever since, I've learned to keep being hopeful, even when times are difficult and/or scary.

In some ways, MLP has kind of given me more positive outlook on life. As I've gotten older, I've become far more negative as a person. Getting to re-experience something that reflects that childlike optimism has really helped me start to see things in a brighter light.

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.

Considering the countless hours I've spent browsing forums, art sites, and watching each episode at least once, I'd say it most certainly did change my life, and for the better. The show and community surrounding it has kept me entertained and happy since I started watching near the end of the first season. I still get excited thinking about the show, where it has been and what's still in store for it.

I discovered MLP when I was trying to change myself as a person. I was once very hot-tempered and had a tendency to get.. aggressive. FiM and Equestria Girls treated me to something fun and light-hearted, in addition to characters that I could easily relate to. It really did make the journey a lot easier.

That's really good that it helped you in that way! Ponies can really make things easier for some of us!

The community really is something to behold! And it still amazes me that ponies created something like that!

To be truthful, it has only made so much of a profound impact. To be fair, however, it has certainly been the fandom which has influenced me the most. MLP has provided me with legitimate friendships and an unconventional interest for me... which is most likely why it is crawling its way to my favorite franchises of all time, as well as Rarity becoming one of my favorite fictional characters. Either way, MLP has had quite an impact on my life... even if it's relative.

In the months before I became a brony, I was having some pretty crappy luck with my crushes and feeling pretty down, so I guess watching a show about fictional girls helped me get over it and get my spirits up again. I'm so happy I found my one true love in the form of Fluttershy! :fluttershy:

Getting into MLP also helped me deal with stress more effectively, and not sweat the small stuff. Overall, I feel like I'm a better, calmer and happier guy from having watched ponies and Equestria girls for the past year and a half. I wouldn't trade what I have with Fluttershy & co for anything.

I don't think the show has affected my life much. I didn't become a fan until a year ago, but I will say this: The show is great at lowering blood pressure!
