FiM's first non unicorn pony villain!

Can we take a moment to appreciate the fact that in the course of 8 years, we have finally gotten a villain of the 3 pony tribes who wasn't a unicorn? This is HUGE! A Pegasus villain! Ive been hoping for this for years! And actually, one of my earlier predictions sort of came true....

 while not an adorable centaur, Cozy Glow is an adorable pony who could wind up Jailbreaking and ruling Tartarus with an iron hoof. But I dogress...

first Pegasus villain! How do you guys feel?

Mind is probably the deadliest weapon, and Cozy being a master manipulator came pretty close to conquer Equestria. Not only she almost succeeded, but it’s suggested she even thought of a plan be considering the ending

indeed. I mean, just look at Sombra, and all the precautions and foresight he took to prevent anyone from even coming close to getting to the Crystal Heart! Can you imagine if Cozy and Sombra- with their brilliant minds, were working together?

It would be cool, but I believe to make said villain a believable threat would be a rehash of Cozy

Earth ponies are hilariously outclassed by the other races and it'd take some doing to make one a credible threat (although given the worfing the Royal Sisters and Mane 6 have been subject to since Season 4, I'm sure the writers would come up with a very dumb explanation to make them useless)

All they have going for them is strength and stamina, and odds are unicorns have a magic spell for that, on top of being able to manipulate the weather and grow food with their magic

Cozy's villainy didn't really have anything to do with her pegasi-ness. So an earth pony villain would work too if they used their brains.

The closest we've come so far is Gladmane.

that was in a comic book, though. Not really in real MLP world, so it kinda doesn't count?

The way I see it, in the comic book the battle would still be real to the Mane 6 and they were defeated in the first fight by her. That's an accomplishment some other villains in the show can't claim. It falls in the take what you can get.

Being a pegasus adds nothing to her character. Anyhow, despite Cozy being the one and only decent pony villain ever, she was created too late to have a lasting effect. There's also the "All villains are broken" mantra being propagated by Meghan, so our evil loli shall in all likelihood get pelted by a tragic past or some other sentimental crap. That melts all the bucks out of my pouch.

I guess it depends on how you define it. Nightmare moon was the very first, and was an Alicorn. Dr. Caballeron, Diamond Tiara (and to a lesser extent, Silver spoon) are Earth ponies, Lightning Dust is a pegasus pony.
