The latter is very, very, very long. It almost kinda reminds me of a PMV. The first one is more reminiscent of the show's message, and contains a lot of wordplay. :X

 

I really don't know.....I'll go with the first one.

The italian version. Since I can understand Italian, I know the lyrics. They are quite beautiful and peaceful. The singing is also quite good.

 

Oh, and it's not really Born to Fly. The song is named "Vole e vai", IIRC, which is Italian for "Go and fly".

Italian hands down. The English version tries to shoehorn puns into the lyrics so badly that I want to cringe til my teeth break.

The Italian version is just way to animeish for my tastes. It's not that that's a bad thing but I've seen far to many cartoons trying to go that way.

It appears I made a tie. I voted for the English. I can fully understand the Italian one, but it just doesn't fit MLP at all to me. I know lots of people have said this, but it does seem to be more of an anime intro. The English one just really sticks on me. And I adore the echoes in the wordplay part. Now we need Derpy in the English one.

I don't really like both.... I always skip the english vesion when I'm watching the episodes. It reminds me thats I am watching a little girls show, but that fades when the actual show starts

I'm not a huge fan of the full-length English opening, it's a little too cheesy with the puns. I'll have to go with the Italian one.

I like Born to fly better, but I hope that the intro will NOT be lengthened, as a longer into means less time for the actual show.

 

Think of it this way:

 

They have to fill a 30 minute period.

 

Commercials account for about 6-8 minutes of that.

 

That leaves 24-22 minutes for the show, minus the intro.

 

Normal intro: 40 seconds

 

This intro: 2 minutes.

 

would you rather watch a 23:20 long show or a 22:00 long show?
