How about MLP going like Star Wars EU after G4 ends?

I have a suggestion to make, what about after the G4 ends, instead of the fandom having very less things to do, we make our own fan-canon stories going. Just like Star Wars EU novels and comics (maybe videos as well). There should be a mediating organization to put all the different ideas from different writers aligned. There should be writers good enough in a certain level to be acknowledged. If not buying the copyright, just in the name of the fandom.

Separate stories about like what happens to the mane 6 after G4, stories of their family, side character's journey, many legends from the past, how little fillies grow in the future, lots of foreign lands could be meld together under an editorial supervision group conducted by fans. The difference from other fan-works is, it is a continuing fan-canon saga after G4 ends. (And it has to carry the spirit of the show instead of making a complete different thing). It has an authority. In order to make this work, of course, it has to be good enough to make people even care and to be credited as such a position. I think it would be better having something rather than having nothing.

It's a good idea but I don't think there are enough people willing to dedicate themselves in such organized and continuous fashion in the fandom also I think it is a bit far fetched to say that the fandom would agree on something like this happening so even if something like this was established I don't think they would get much recognization outside of their tight knit group.

I've already planned on doing some things following the end of the series.  I actually want to continue doing Pony SFM Videos, and I may do an Alternative universe of my own(Mainly focused on a OP I'm creating that's basically got some issues of his own)

 

I also want to continue doing MLP Fanart(Though I will spread out to other pieces of fan art like Disney, Marvel, DC, Nintendo, etc).

I've had a similar idea to this, however, instead of it being a collective thing, it would be a centralized source of unofficial fully animated episodes.  In fact, I'm actually trying make this an actual thing, it's just the problem of trying to get a team together.

I have thought about possibly creating an open idea send-in thing, where episode concepts, scripts, heck even fully scripted *and* storyboarded episode concepts, could be sent in to be looked over and potentially turned into a full episode.

It's not a bad idea as it would allow the fandom to keep things going on a certain front. A shame that Hasbro wouldn't recognize any of the hard work that would result but then that's something we'd have to accept.

If we had a huge budget, and approval from Hasbro to use G4 how much as we wanted, I am sure we would come up with something great! Possibly greater than Hasbro would ever be able to come up with.

 

But there might be divisions within the fandom, about how to treat the Mane 6. I have seen some debates about certain official/non-official ships. I feel like it would be too difficult to try to work with the Mane 6. But OCs are always flexible.

Beating Cease and Desist... That requires at least beating Google's Youtube AI. It knows everything about copyright, and has learned more over the years than any lawyer. I believe even Hasbro is afraid of "it", -copyrighting- Pony Life to someone else.

Bronies like to brag how our fandom is so very creative. Now is the chance to prove that. Or you can place yourself at the mercy of a corporation that probably won't be even aware when it makes all your time and effort go to waste.

It is absolutely true that bronies need to hold onto their skills and stand up to the big corporations. I was just so disappointed in the your 2013 when so many just gave up on MLP because Hasbro started taking down videos. It was such an easy "I give up, and you should also" attitude, instead of fighting for what they believed in.

 

Excuses to give up because Youtube is changing, has been something I have seen over the years. Youtube will always change, and if you want to reach people, you need to stay there, and fight for your rights. I was hoping bronies would stand up for their believes in the end.
