Abstract 832 July 14, 2019 Share July 14, 2019 I don't necessarily dislike them, but I do think they are unnecessary - and also, if they had to happen, could have been done a little better. I dislike how late in the show that they have showed up, taking time away from some stories of closure of other other characters who have been around for way longer, if not the entire series like the Mane 6. There's simply not enough time in the series left to make me very emotionally invested in them; I mean, I like them well-enough outside of Gallus and Sandbar, but with the show ending very soon there isn't the time to flesh out much more desperately need character development, leaving them a bit hollow and distant. 3 "Let the steel of my resolve be not bested by the sum of my fears." There seem to be a glimpse of hope for her still. Also, evil? Misguided ...... no, evil is correct (she likes backstabbing)
Cash In 22,467 July 14, 2019 Share July 14, 2019 I don't mind the Student Six, as I've found them to become solid characters who have added their own flavour to the show. Of course, some of them have had much more time in the spotlight than others, which can leave certain members having less development than the rest. At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.

Agreed. I’m between mere liking them to being indifferent to them. The idea between them is good: different species getting along to start a subtle world -wide conquest with pony love . But yeah, I think the little fact that the show wouldn’t push aside the Mane 6 in their favor, and being introduced in the second to last season left little time to exploit them 1 Sig by Discords
MangoFoalix 25,033 July 17, 2019 Share July 17, 2019 No, I personally do not like the Student Six one bit. I think they are just shoe in characters like Starlight Glimmer to pad the shows run time.

Yeah I feel the same way. Feels like they were introduced way too late in the series and really rushed through their story arc.
Kion 7,407 July 17, 2019 Share July 17, 2019 The Student 6 are the main reason why Season 8 was Trash.
ErisPegasus 56 July 20, 2019 Share July 20, 2019 I like them for being their species, but not their personalities in and of themselves. Which is fitting - it's pretty clear that they exist only to be symbols/representatives of a species, rather than unique characters.
JH24 385 July 24, 2019 Share July 24, 2019 (edited) I really like the Student 6. They add a flavor and new dynamic to this series. I did need some time to warm up to them but I can't imagine the series without them now. Just like the Mane 6, they all have their own personalities and quirks and they work well together. My "least favorite" was Sandbar until his episode with Yona. It really made him more likeable for me. It was this episode where his character became more defined IMHO. The other reason I like the Student 6 is because it showed the Elements of Harmony were not exclusive to ponies, but could be used by anyone, regardless of who they are. Xe__or 4,377 July 26, 2019 Share July 26, 2019 I really, really don't like them. Proof is that I don't even remember their name, or if I do I'm not sure whose name I remember; is it the blue changeling? Goat-kun 2,528 July 27, 2019 Share July 27, 2019 They are ponies in costumes bowing their subservient heads to the Friendship clergy. I asked for brave and wise leaders of the mortal realms free of such foul chains. What we got were sniveling youths serving as lame fuel for the friendship lessons. Our glorious writers have managed to shrink the world once more as these wretched characters symbolize their impetuous drive to write every creature not marked as a villain as a firm believer in Friendship dogma. This can only lead to boredom and a shrinking repertoire of viable stories.
The Nth Doctor 663 July 27, 2019 Share July 27, 2019 The only thing I don't like about this is the fact they're only give a handful of episodes that actually focus on them while the same tired characters get the lion's share of episodes I don't want to see the Main Six character assassinated for the fourth year in a row, I want to see these new and interesting characters grow! Not helped by Season 8 skipping NINE MONTHS of characterization during Non-Compete Clause "I love deadlines. I love the whooshing sound they make as they fly by." CypherHoof 26,483 July 27, 2019 Share July 27, 2019 I can agree on wanting to see the new and interesting characters be explored and watching them grow - but can also see that a show that follows the Young Six is no longer MLP - its still FiM of course, but there isn't enough Pony in there. What would you call a spinoff show that the Ponies weren't even the majority race in? 1 ᚾᛖᚹ ᛚᚢᚾᚨ ᚱᛖᛈᚢᛒᛚᛁᚴ - ᚦᛖ ᚠᚢᚾ ᚺᚨᚦ ᛒᛖᛖᚾ ᛞᛟᚢᛒᛚᛖᛞ
