I think they reason that they piss people off so much is because they screw with people’s “Happy Places”. People go to video games to unwind from the stress of the world, and then BAM, there’s EA making it suck.

That's because people are morons. Far, far worse companies exist, even in the game industry. EA is nowhere near "the worst." Even when EA was at their worst, the games I played from them were still as enjoyable as anything else I was playing at the time. Calling them the worst is a disservice to the things they do provide.

I disagree. And what exactly do they provide that is good?

They enable and encourage gambling addiction. Chop up games into pieces to get more money out of you later. They hoover up studios and force them to make games that were never in their wheelhouse, and then destroy the studios when what they were forced to make wasn’t as good.

Sure they can pump money into some pretty graphics, but it’s like a pretty Persian rug placed over a pig trough.

And if you’re talking about games you played like back in the 90s, times change I’m afraid.

Wow. Kind of expected that honor to go to Bethesda, what with Fallout 76 and all that.

Can't say I'm too surprised though. I've stayed away from EA games for a long time specifically because of this kind of thing.
