As a fan of DH character myself, my annoyance stems from two things, how out of context people took this character, and the fact some people are claiming to represent the entirety of people with disabilities, then want to shove their opinions down other peoples throats within that same group. I never found DH upsetting at all, and I know several other people on the spectrum who don't either. I always thought of DH as a cute happy go lucky character who doesn't quite have the coordination skills as everypony else does, but she is still loveable regardless.

I REMEMBER THAT! People just want a reason to be mad, it was NEVER the creator of Derpy's fault and she never should have been made to take her out of the show in the first place, Derpy's original voice was fine and I prefer it to the other ones. 

The moms who complained refused to see it from any other angle and didn't want to believe that a character with crossed eyes could be seen as a silly and cute character and nobody in the fandom, a lot of which have disabilities themselves didn't find Derpy offensive. If Stellar (the wheelchair bound pegasus) found his way into the show, and if Scootaloo can exist and have nobody complain then why can't Derpy

Yes, and people like that are killing creativity in fiction, it raises my blood pressure even thinking about it, the fact that a small number of people turned this DH censorship fiasco into a culture war, and we're supposed to go along with this as if it's a rational way of thinking about this.

And people wonder why liberals have difficulty winning elections, because a lot of them, although not all progressives, do things like this, and it's a waste of time.

I've given up hope in the system a long time ago, because a lot of people just don't learn from their mistakes.

Not to mention Screwy from Read It and Weep is a MUCH more offensive take on disabilities, specifically mental disabilities as she just barks like a dog, she doesn't talk, she's just seen as crazy, and that irks me.

But Derpy? She's silly and seen as a beloved character by the fandom, along with Dr Whooves, Octavia, Vinyl and many many others.

I agree. Zecora is another character I like as well. Zecora is Equestria's resident healer, don't know why she did not make a potion to heal Rainbow Dash's injured wings in Read it and Weep episode, doesn't seem like Zecora gets a lot of recognition in the show for some reason. Her two most notable episodes being Bridled Gossip and Luna Eclipsed.

Bridle Gossip is another controversial episode for reasons I will not mention as the fandom has much common knowledge of at this point.

The worst part about Bridled Gossip episode in my opinion is Mane Six did not even clean up the mess they made at Zecora's house after the fact, Twilight Sparkle did learn not to judge others by their looks or rumours, a lesson she remembered in Luna Eclipsed where she educated Pinkie Pie about Princess Luna, but still, Zecora got treated horribly. I think the episode was made to inform people about racism though. However controversial the episode was, it was a message that needed to be told to counteract systematic prejudices toward people of different ethnicities.

I do have a bit of work ahead of me moving into a new place and I thought I might feel nervous or some kind of emotion but I’m just glad things are working out, so very calm and at ease for the time being.
