This series is probably my second favorite video game series ever and I've played and loved every single game! My favorite of the series is Odyssey right now, but Brotherhood, Black Flag, Origins and III are also favorites of mine!

All of the historic backgrounds helps make the series a lot more interesting too! And while it is fun to leap from a pyramid or tower and plummet onto the unlucky souls beneath you, getting to learn all about these unexplored time periods is very fascinating!

I played AC2:Brotherhood on my brother's console, which was fairly good fun, and I put a good 20+ hours into AC2 (in that order and with a fair gap between them) on the PC, which was good but felt incredibly padded. I remember one fight with a major antagonist where all of your allies turned up, and I thought Right, we're really going somewhere now, this should be interesting! Only for the fight to finish and to be sent to *another* city to sneak and stab in exactly the same way I already had.

I will say that the historical aspects to both those games was quite interesting, and I remember someone's parents remarking that their child played the game and spent most of a trip to Florence pointing out monuments they had stabbed people from, areas of castles where there was a secret passage, etc., as well as showing impressive knowledge of the people of the day.

Participating in this RP can be agonizing sometimes.

I do not like violent video games, but someday I was probably going to end up trying one of these games, as I just love history and especially love seeing ancient towns and architecture. Assassin's Creed Odyssey was what finally did it for me.

I knew Origins got a Discovery Tour mode, so I was thinking I would wait for that to come for Odyssey. However, I ended up just jumping into the game itself when it came out. I didn't like the violence. I didn't like the decaying bodies everywhere, but I did like everything else. The recreations of the cities, architecture, and art is all just so gorgeous! It was super neat to get to see structures in such beautiful graphics that I had only got to see in pictures in history books before (like the Mycenaean structures and the palace of Knossos).

Also being the music history nerd I am, I was glad to see a lot of real ancient Greek instruments represented. I figured that the lyre would show up, but I'm glad that they also represented the aulos. Wind instruments often go unrepresented, and I was afraid that would happen here, but it didn't! The music itself, though, I'm not as familiar with ancient Greek music as I know very little of it survives. I heard the famous Epitaph of Seikilos (which IIRC would not have been composed for hundreds of years after the setting of this game, but... there's hardly any music surviving, so I forgive), but I don't know if anything else was historical.

On top of all of that, to make the game just really fun for me, it is a really large open world. I adore open world games so much. I love the freedom. I love taking my time just wandering through the wilderness and getting to take in the views. This game did it great, too.

So I will keep an eye on this series going forward, even though I don't really like the violence. Odyssey is overwhelmingly the top game of 2018 for me, so it did a lot right!

I like pre-Origins games. I mainly like them because of the gameplay, fighting and the story before BF. I don't get why so many people hate fighting mechanic, it's not about challenge it's about pace and grace almost like a dance, it feels really good

I'm kinda of a fan of this series. I really played Assassin Creed 2 a lot back in the day and I've a lot of good memories even if some parts were really hard like this one wall jump in this one Assassin tomb for Altair's Armor -.- But I still love this game. Brotherhood was also really good, but they overdid with the city building part. Revelations I only played once through and Assassin Creed 3 only through the story and then I stopped. Too many bugs in this, but it had really good ideas. Then Black Flag I loved it. I think it's more a pirate than AC game, but I loved it. After the early reports of buginess of Unity I decided to stop and to be honest I never continued to any AC game after Black Flag.

I love this games but I was not in favor of getting rid of Desmond and especially not in this manner and the later parts have such a big open world that it's not directly my cup of tea anymore. I really like Assassin Creed 2 and Black Flag and their world sizes. Besides Ezio was best character in Assassin Creed  in my book :D

But because I've only played some games in this series, I'm not sure if I qualify as fan.
