I mainly play Nintendo for the Nintendo titles and jrpgs it might however be an interesting additional handheld. To be fair, sometimes you want a handheld for graphics and other times for pure entertainment. What makes Nintendo great, the 3ds in particular is the pure entertainment value. Whereas the switch does both of which, however, it is easily replicated to make a handheld similar so the real value to the customer I believe is although different depending on who you ask is the entertainment. Of course there are those who travel a lot and a handheld can be rather useful for such instances. What I personally have a preference for is the entertainment value.

Makes me wonder just how many games will be compatible with Steam deck. Not many great portable game systems nowadays...so I hope this is a success.

I do not expect I will buy it. But pressuring Nintendo with something that will more directly compete against the Switch is a good thing. Its appearance vaguely reminds me of the Game Gear.

I don't play games portably so for me this would be kinda pointless. Cool if you do that though I guess.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't interested but after the colossal bomb that was Steam Machines, I can't help but feel skeptical

I changed my mind; I may plan to purchase it when I am able. I have a desktop PC and a high-end laptop which I essentially consider to be my desktop PC but more portable. So I look at the Steam Deck as an even more portable work computer with long battery life that can also play games. The Deck may be heavy compared to the Switch, but it is considerably lighter than my laptop.

I just don't like how people are using the system to try to bash on Nintendo. What a bunch of cheap shots at a company that's not supposed to have The cutting Edge graphics or technology but it's supposed to keep their focus on making their games fun
