" ummm wait... You do magic too?.. uuhhh... Im an earth pony sooo... I have no idea what you just said to me... Ummm" he'd then look for a unicorn around and luckily enough there was one just passing by.

" Um excuse me!" He called out to the hooded unicorn.

The mare unicorn with orange mane and purple fur would turn around to face you.

" How may i help you?" She replied.

" We would like your assistance on a specific book about.... Magical geometry and magic circuits?" He asked while looking at shamrock checking if he said it right.

" Hmmm.... Come, follow me. I think i know the book you need." The mare replied. She wood head inside the castle and asks you to follow her.

"Oh no no no no no. I don't. I can't cast anything. However, what we do with alchemy is use the natural flow of magic to power the change of matter. Think of it like... uh... like using fire to cook something! One isn't a pyromancer for using fire to cook. We don't really control it at our will, right? However, we can use the energy released by the fire in an indirect way to heat up food so it changes the chemical and physical properties of food" Shamrock explained quite passionately, and he kept going at it. "Alchemy takes advantage of laylines and how magic flows to administrate energy to make matter change its properties and even break it apart to change an element into another. But for that one does need to know the natural lay out of laylines. That's why we draw transmutation circles to begin with. Just to favor the flow of magical energy in a way to use the indirect magical waves to induce change on the stuff we have." he said... just to continue with his endless explanation! "Unicorns, however, can channel their thoughts into the layline network to bend reality! That's the whole point of their horns. Their horn also works as a sensorial organ, so they have an empiric knowkedge of layline disposition to use their telekinesis in such a natural way... and I'm boring you out. Sorry" he chuckled awkwardly.

He cleaned his throat and asked the guard to come along, just in case. He hadn't noticed the coat nor the mane of the hoodied unicorn yet.

" May i join this test of yours? I can easily give you the field." It seems Starlight Glimmer is intrigued on how Blu uses these metal pellets.

He looked a little suspicious, but nodded, "Only if you swear not to try and replicate my methods or devices. The tools I use have done enough damage to my world, best if the same mistakes weren't made here."

" You would've been the perfect student if it weren't for your attitude... Anyway. I jave nothing against books. I quite like them.

He sighed, "Being uprooted from your life and body, kidnapped, and nearly murdered, all within the span of a few hours, tends to do that to you. While I have the mind of a full grown adult, I have a body very susceptible to the chemical effects of stress and trauma. Lets be grateful that I cope with 'an attitude' as you put it, and not by having a mental break."

13 hours ago, Kujamih said:

But nothing can beat experience.

Sure you've read how magic works. But it'll still take you time to have a feel on how it works. Im just showing you how it feels so when you use it it would be easier since you know how it flows and feels like."

" But if you prefer books you have access to my labyrinth of libraries. Although a fair warning. I haven't done any maintenance and cleaning since the invasion soooo... The place might be infested with formed curses ghost and magical creatures.... So i suggest you don't go too deep."

He nodded, "Were I intending to learn how to cast spells, I'm sure that would be useful, but I don't have the casting potential to make that effective. I'm interested in runes in order to engrave them so that all I have to do is charge them to get their effects. Still, if you think it would do me good, I'm not opposed."

"Although, if you want to speed things up, it would be better if someone else went for the books while I worked on my equipment. Though if it will take time to gather the resources, then it won't matter."

13 hours ago, Kujamih said:

" You may have me then Blu. But if you must kill you may only kill me... If its to cripple me, would you do the honors of removing these cursed wings of mine. And if you happen to miss i will owe you in return."

He nodded, "Fair enough."

That resolved he turned towards Starlight, "So, I need somewhere I can work, then I'll be able to give you the list of materials. Then I'll need somewhere to test, preferably somewhere with a long clear area where there isn't a risk of others getting in the way where they would be in danger. If all goes well, I'll be ready to leave in a few days."

(Fuoco)

Fuoco didn't have much experience with anti-magic, and had never encountered something that could resist a Siren, so she was reasonable in thinking the situation more precarious than it was. She also wasn't too concerned, they seemed to be a good distance from the ocean anyway.

Once they were distanced from the others Fuoco asked, "What was that about? What sort of things did she teach you?"

Everyone has a roll in life and is critical to the balance of all things, that is what Lady Fluttershy has thought us... The purple creatures or anything trying to actively kill us is another thing. Luckily we could bash them in the head or put them unconcious to bring them back to our side..."

She raised an eyebrow at that, "Seriously? No wonder you all got overrun. You aren't very familiar with the horrors of war." She sighed, "I don't know how many ponies I killed before I came here, many of them were my friends just the day before. And if we could have reached the one controlling them they might have been freed, or one of them would take over for the controller. But in the moment, it was them or me."

She took a deep breath, "I don't mean to burden you with my past, but it sounds like I might be ill-suited for this task. Fire seldom causes concussions. I'll do what I can to support you with my magic, but if anything threatens my life, I will kill it."

This would cause Griff to stop flying and cover his ears while Basher would find cover. Seeing this everyone followed suit on what Basher did.

" ... I think it's safe to say we've been spotted..." Griff guessed.

Fuoco would follow Basher into cover, "Or it's just the hour. But yes, be ready."

She'd pull out her silver flute and remove the damper, ready to play as soon as something appeared.

" So just come to me when you're ready to feel what magic first."

" I mean. Granted we didn't much have wars thanks to Princess Twilight but... An invasion of that sort is quite unique and we prefer not to kill. Luckily we didn't and was able to find the cure..."

Unexpectedly something drops at the center of the group. It was a blue pegasus stallion with a rod. And part of its body is covered with purple infection.

It starts to swing its rod. Griff and Apple bloom would easily dodge it but Basher would easily catch it.

" Fuoco! Fire!" Basher shouted.

Blu would take and store away what was offered to him. He was a little annoyed that Starlight didn't actually swear like he had requested, but she had agreed to, so he'd simply have her do that when it came time to test.

When it came to the portal he looked skeptical, but sighed, "I'll look real dumb if this turns out to be a trap, but fine, no time to lose I suppose, I'll get started immediately then."

He would approach the portal and stop, "I suppose it's one of those 'only what you take with you' places? I'll need a table, a chair, some bedding, and food. I'm not picky. If it's got enough space in there, then I can do my testing in there, in which case I'll need an archery target, you guys have archery right? and a few large stones, or metal plates, for penetration testing. After I get started in there, which I guess will be no time at all on this end, I'll give you the list of materials and components I'll need."

(Fuoco)

(I'm confused, is Apple Bloom following them? Or is she shouting across the town in order to be heard by them? Fuoco and Basher have been moving away from where they started this whole time. She specifically waited until they had some distance before talking to Basher to begin with, so I'm confused as to how Apple Bloom is still  overhearing them and butting in to the conversation.)

With a sharp sustained note the pegasus was wholly engulfed in fire, a consequence of the flute being more powerful than she was used to, and her being on edge. Inwardly she cursed that she hadn't had more time to practice with the new flute before putting it to use, but she wasn't about to let up and potentially use less force than necessary. Besides, Basher could remove the flames if it got too much.

( Yeah they're still following you guys.)

The pegasi was set aflame and screamed in pain.

It let go of it's staff and violently roll on the ground.

"Basher and Griff were a bit stunned at whats happening.

Luckily Applebloom was quick enough to take action.

" Somethings wrong! Quickly put out the flames!"

Basher would quickly try to suck up the fire.

It appears that the purple infection didn't help it's host.

Burn marks can be seen on the pegasi at it writhes in pain.

" Why isn't he regenerating!? This wasn't suppose to happen right!?" Griff panicked.

Later something was throwned at them.

It was rocks and some cooking equipment as well. It seems a mob is forming.

One by one creatures are coming out of the gates from outside the buildings near the bell tower.

"Leave us alone!"

One of the purple infected creatures yelled while throwing one of her pans.

" Now that bell stopped ringin... I think we better skidaddle ata here... Am hearin alota foot steps..." Apple bloom worriedly suggested.

" You worry too much." Starlight then realized the mistake she said.

" ....sorry nevermind what i said."

"....why do i feel like Blu is getting famous with the mare's lately..." Lyra questioned.

As they enter the portal.

They'd see themselves in the open-field with the requested equipment and setting. The only thing weird about this place is that time really felt nonexistent here. One can breathe here but could not feel the breeze. But the atmosphere and the magical presence is heavy.

" So what do you wanna do next? Thinker with your toy or feel the magic within you? But i think you can handle it at the same time." Starlight suggested.

Blu let out an exasperated sigh, but did not respond as he started to unload all the stuff he had been carrying onto various surfaces, setting down the latest version of his rifle on a clear table before turning towards Starlight, "What I want, is for you to start treating me with the level of respect and professionalism that I deserve. You asked for my help because you need it, and because I am capable of providing it. This," he pointed to his rifle, "Is NOT a toy, it is a highly accurate lethal weapon that brought down a dragon and saved your school from that giant bear. I'm not going to 'tinker' with it like some research project. I'm going to use the materials you provide to turn it into a weapon capable of obliterating anything I point it at. I've had the schematics the whole time, I've just never had the resources to build it and have had to make due with scraps up until now."

He held up a hoof, "And lets not get into how much more powerful or 'important' you are than me. All your power didn't save the school or this castle. You need me because I can do something that you can't. So lets treat each other like the competent professionals that we are, alright?"

He wouldn't wait for her response before turning to his project, opening the Kernel and jotting down the listed materials that he needed. Specifically he needed a good amount of gold wire, Neodymium Iron Boron alloy (Or just Iron if the alloy was not available), as well as something that could hold a magical charge, bonus if it could also recharge itself. He'd pass the list off to Starlight while keeping his focus on the rifle, breaking it down to its components and sorting them into what could be reused in the new version, what would need to be reshaped, and what would be discarded.

(Fuoco)

Fuoco was a bit annoyed at the slow response from Basher and Griff, their surprise at the violence and freezing before asking what to do betrayed that they were not soldiers in the slightest. They'd probably never even been in a real fight before.

When it came to the mob approaching them Fuoco was quick to action, with an even low tone she cast a wall of fire between the two groups, which would remain as long as she kept playing, hopefully it would give enough space for one more accustomed to diplomacy to calm things down. She'd be able to move the wall towards the mob too if the order were given to advance. Still, she'd wait for Diamond's decision.

" Yeah...yeah..." She replied while still scanning and observing the notes and materials.

Shed then look at you then back at the materials, then looked back at you.

"You know its hard to take a colt that seriously... Although the things you have done proved that you aren't or just in a whole league of your own...."

Then she'd quickly scan you with her magic.

She'd then blush for a bit.

"I-i could age you a bit so others can take you seriously." She flustered a bit.

As they escaped applebloom would give a piece of her mind to everyone.

" Fuoco, thank you for the quick back up. Basher griff! I expected for you both to take action than to talk and stand!" She scolded.

" W-what!? B-but she burned him!" Griff pointed at Basher's back.

It seems basher carried the pony they burned.

" Wha!? Nevermind..." She stuttered and facehoofed. "Griff! There you go again. Think before you talk! It was Basher who gave the orders. And why are you carrying that pony!?"

"It's my fault! I'll take responsibility for him... I can't leave em there and I don't think they have what it takes to properly heal em...."

"Thats very noble and respectable basher.... But I don't know anyone in our team who's good at healin magic.... All we can do is givem first aid.. although i think he'll be fine... He'll just have some scars."

Griff would sulk along the way back to the rest of the group.

@Kujamih

A blinding light made Shamrock's eyes sore. He closed them and looked away by insctinct.

"Uh... it's your turn?" a female voice said "don't make me wait forever. I'd say this isn't chess, but you know... this is chess. Still not an excuse to make me wait for your next move for so long" the voice added with a giggle. It was a young voice, that of a filly in her late teens.

"W-what?" a dazzed Shamrock mumbled.

"Come on Rock! Are you even listening?" the filly nagged "Move. Your. Piece. Already!" she added exasperated by the clumsy stallion.

Shamrock opened his eyes and looked in front of him. He was sitting on a leather chair. In front of him, a filly of chocolate mane and an earthy coppery coat stared at him with a frown. Shamrock's heart skipped a beat. He had no words. With a sigh, he picked a knight and moved it in front of his pawn. He was playing blacks, as usual.

"Y-your... turn... Saturn?" he did a gesture with his hoof, confused by the situation.

"Are you ok?" the filly asked as she looked closely to the board.

Shamrock looked at himself. While he was not dressed as a clown, he definitively had some scars from recent battles. This was out of place.

The warm light of the sunset was fading away as the afterglow took over the sky, bathing the office in golden and pink. The air was somewhat stale, despite the lavender fragance Saturn acustomed to wash the floor with.

"So dad- err, I mean, YOUR dad asked me if I had planned to study anything once I finished highschool" the filly said, trying to start a little chat.

Shamrock looked away for a moment. Did she ever get to know the truth?

"S-so...?" he asked, trying to go with the flow. He was trying to read the diplomas on the wall. He couldn't make out what was wrote on them. He was half aware he wasn't in reality anymore, but he couldn't rationalize it yet.

"Medicine. I wanna be a doctor like him. That's what I told him" she replied, looking after the aproval of the distracted stallion.

"Oh, really? It's a bunch of studying and hard work. You sure about that?" he commented, addapting to the situation, non-chalant about the real situation. He knew things weren't right, but he couldn't tell what was off.

"Of course I do! But hey, I'm one of the best of my class!" she proudly answered with a smug smirk.

"Yeah, I know. Don't rub it on my face, will you?" Shamrock replied and chuckled. Saturn would take any chance to show off her good grades.

"So...."

"So...?"

"What do you think Rock?" she asked with bright eyes.

"Focus and you'll do great. You got this" he replied. Suddenly, grief would fill up his chest. He fought back the tears that started to form without a logical reason. Or maybe...?

"Ok, I'll move this piece here" she announced.

"Checkmate~" Shamrock sang after a few moves. Saturn couldn't believe it.

"No way! How is this possible?" she whinned as she tracked back all the movements, trying to prove Shamrock had cheat.

"Keep your eyes on the knights, Saturn. Those block your premade play" he pointed out as he picked one up.

"Ugh... you're still smarter than me..." she pouted.

"Nah, it's just I have a bit more of vision" he replied, trying to comfort the filly.

Suddenly, he felt the urge to look behind himself, but he fought it.

"You can't drag this for longer Rock... sometimes, to keep going you gotta look behind" the filly said. It was totally unnexpected, but Shamrock knew what was this about. His heart sank and his voice broke.

"D-do I have... to...?" he asked, wishing to hear a no for an answer. Sadly for him, the filly nodded.

"Maybe next time we can play an entirely different match. But for now... I gotta go" the filly answered, levitating both queens.

Shamrock turned around to find himself in front of a wall full of papers. The faces of several fillies and mares were hung on the dirty wall. "Missing", "Last seen". He should read that, if he could figure out the writing. He quickly looked down to the floor. He stepped back and looked around. He seemed to be in a dirty alleyway, near a pass bridge. Something was hanging from the bridge afar.

"Am I back into the harvest grounds...?" he asked, knowing nopony should answer him. Or at least, he was supposed to be all by himself right there.

@Jesse Terrence

for unknown reasons, he would be dragged by the scene, closer to the bridge and face the one hanging from afar.

Who would it be, as it slowly turns and reveal its face......would it be a corpse of the loved one? Would it be a last dying whisper? Would he wake from the nightmare and reveal where he is, finally breaking the nightmares hold of him?

@Kujamih

The face of the corpse was somewhat familiar. Unlike the one on the harvest grounds, this one was someone he had actually interacted with recently, or so he thought.

"How long have I been knocked out...?" he wondered as he stared to what seemed to be a royal guard. All the guards looked the same to him, though. It could be anyone from the castle, as far as he was concerned.

Shamrock was on alert now. He was under attack, it seemed. He looked around to pick up the lead pipe he used to find near that bridge, hoping the layout would be alike to the real one.

@Jesse Terrence

The world collapses and both the corpse and him fall to the abyss.

The abyss felt like tar dragging you down.

Until he sinks and wake up where he saw the mysterious unicorn before, but he was under the pool , About to drown. on the upper side of the pool, there he sees someone starring back at him. Shamrock can't picture out who it was due to him under water and slowly losing air.

Yeah...yeah..." She replied while still scanning and observing the notes and materials.

He rolled his eyes at that. Once this was over, if he were still trapped here, a regime change was in order.

"You know its hard to take a colt that seriously... Although the things you have done proved that you aren't or just in a whole league of your own...."

Then she'd quickly scan you with her magic.

She'd then blush for a bit.

"I-i could age you a bit so others can take you seriously." She flustered a bit.

He paused for a moment, but shook his head, "The guards out there had no trouble with it. And frankly, I prefer to be underestimated on first impression. Further, I already wasted my youth once, I don't intend to waste it again. It's not like this form is all that limiting in other respects anyway."

"Hmmm this can help lighten the load at my work." She ponders while analyzing the kernel.

He shook his head, "This is far more dangerous than my weapons, if allowed to fall into the wrong hands. Best if you left it alone."

" Hey how about this? I'll flow my magic onto you so youd end up learning metalurgy and runes, while you make your weapons? This way we hit 2 birds with one stone. I can easily coach you as well." She suggested.

Shed then teleport all the listed items of the kernel.

" Shall we begin?"

He sighed, "We have all the time in the world in here don't we? Then I'd prefer to focus on this for a bit, maybe take the opportunity to properly rest, before we get into anything new."

He turned more fully towards his work, testing the magnetic properties of the alloy that he had requested before sighing, "Fine, having a better understanding of magic in relation to metal would be useful at this stage. Go ahead."

(Fuoco)

Fuoco had not expected the group to retreat when they held a partial advantage, and could have at least tried to resolve some sort of diplomatic understanding.

Further, as a consequence of her training in melodimancy she was not a runner, nor particularly robust physically. Her style was to stand and fight, especially as many of her more complicated songs required her to sit down to use both of her hooves to play the flute.

Further, as the wall of fire would stop the moment she stopped playing, if any of those against them were to run after her, they'd have an easy time catching up, while she'd have a difficult time keeping up with the group.

Her frustration at the whole situation built on top of the fear of potentially being left behind, causing her to lash out at the fleeing group, "Cowards!", as she turned to start running after them.

(It's unclear from your post as to whether they're being pursued, or if the conversation happens after they've gotten some distance. In either case Fuoco would be out of breath from running to keep up, and as such wouldn't add anything to the conversation)

(If she gets attacked by the pursuing group she'll do something different)

"..... I really did underestimated you..." She looked at you with wonder and curiosity. " Hmm instead of aging you... I should probably regain my youth instead..." She pondered some more.

"Hey time may be stopped here. But please do know that "I" am exerting a lot of magic here. It is still limited. Even an alicorn could not pull this level of magic." She bragged.

" Okay you ready?" She closed in on you and grabbed both of your hooves.

" Magic here works well with harmony, so we need to practice harmony with oneself and others." Her hooves glow faintly and slowly crawls towards you, and eventually covering your body.

"I'll slowly increase the output  now..." She'd then hug you and the glow starts to inncrease in brightness.

( Choices to react upon.)

( Slight pain :2% of Starlight's magical output.)

(Heavy body:3%)

(Slight head ache:4%)

( Tolerable pain :5%)

(Visible sweating and a heavier body:6%)

[At this point starlight would worry and check on you if you wish to continue.]

(Head ache:7%)

(Out of breath:8%)

[She will scold you]

(Bleeding:9%)

( It is hard to tell if you are being pursued or not. But it seems they are keeping a distance, since they prefer to throw stuff at the group and didn't charge immediately to attack the group like the pegasi did.)

Her frustration at the whole situation built on top of the fear of potentially being left behind, causing her to lash out at the fleeing group, "Cowards!", as she turned to start running after them.

Applebloom would hear Fuoco's cries, causing her to stop and slow down, probably turn around and run towards her to help.

" Am sorry... I dint mean to leave ya behind..." A tone of worry and guilt could be heard from these words.

Shed then offer her back for her to ride. " Come and ride at my back we need ta hurry."

[ If]°¥¢^£π[If]

Upon carrying Fuoco

She'd then bolt it at her top speed. Out running the rest." Catch up you two." She said as she passed Basher and Griff.

Sooner or later they'd reach their hide out and would be greeted by the three.

"It didn't even took you guys an hour..." Diamond tiara sighed.

" And whats this!? An infected? Why didn't you knock it out so he could be cured!?" She questioned.

" We did but it didn't work, okay! We just ended up injuring the poor guy..." Griff exclaimed.

" White, please help me. I did this." Basher requested.

White light could not turn down one of his close friends and approached the injured pony.

" Alright, but all i could do is first-aid and remove any magical interference and residues in his body."

White placed his sword near the injured pony and started to apply first aid.

Misty would sit on the opposite side, away from the sword and apply a bit of healing magic. " Let me help too."

" What's going on?" Diamond Tiara questioned, asking the group.

" Wasn't knocking out the host enough to cure them from the infection?"

Applebloom would answer, " we know little of this infection. that method was done when the host just got infected.... Perhaps this one has fully merged with it's host."

" Im guessing he aint the only one out there." White asked.

" Unfortunately no... But the good news is that we know where the villagers are."

White, Misty, and Tiara was shocked at the revelation.

"Then we should escape as soon as possible. We don't want to be surrounded by the infected." Tiara replied.

" Not quite. It seems they can communicate. And it seems they're more afraid of us.... You know since we ended up burnin him." Applebloom pointed at the pegasi.

Diamond Tiara could only put a hoof on her face as a reply.

" No point on spilled milk... We gotta fix this before things escalate, we should go there and negotiate."

Griff was looking outside the window while he replied. " We got no problem there."

"It seems the villager came to us." Misty gulped.

A small mob can be seen outside.

"... Theres like... Only 12 of them outside, as far as i could see." Griff informed them.

Fuoco would snort at that, "We could have held them back just fine."

Nonetheless she'd climb up, "Frankly we should have brought a cart or a chariot."

Fuoco would watch as the others cared for the pony she had burned. With White's sword in the area she wouldn't be able to magically assist. Besides, she wasn't really inclined to help one who had tried to attack her unprovoked.

In regards to the mob outside Fuoco would look out the window Griff was at, then nod. "I could take them all out if things go south. Go ahead and negotiate."
