What I believe is that the GEN 4 COMICS is connected to gen 5 rather the GEN 4 tv series.

Look at it this way...

The comics and gen 5 has more connected than the gen 4 tv could ever be with their comics... And the gen 4 comics is hinting more on gen 5.

Or might be one of many dimensions Starlight glimmer opened up ....
