SharpWit 2,844 December 18, 2022 Share December 18, 2022 A third bedroom, a laundry room, a walk through closet rather than a walk in, a shop out back, front yard, back yard, street parking, and neighbors I'd want to talk to.

Divine plywood 1,250 January 6, 2023 Share January 6, 2023 Aquarium. Oooh, now when I started to reminisce that, I really want to buy a fish tank or plant terrarium!
Dreambiscuit 11,135 January 12, 2023 Share January 12, 2023 I had more bedrooms (bigger family back then), a big rock outside that I loved to climb on, and snow in the winter. I have palm trees now so it’s a fair trade-off.
Cirrus. 1,093 January 18, 2023 Share January 18, 2023 A mudroom/first floor laundry. And an attached garage. Two things that I really miss. Rainbow Rocks... at least how it could've looked... in a stranger, more interesting dimension For those who are wondering, Twilight is chewing bubble gum. Raskolnikov 1,716 July 5 Share July 5 (edited) The garden from the first childhood home I remember is something I still miss. My recollections of it have an otherworldly quality - I still remember freezing once as a toddler because I saw a stickbug and it FREAKED ME OUT plus the location was interesting in that it was built down on the side of an enbankment on a mountainous town so you had to walk down stairs to get to this two story building, the landlady lived on the top and then there was another set of stairs and we were at the bottom half of the building. So there were tall stone walls I'd climb and get on and explore the area as much as I could, and another neighbouring property was also abandoned and derelict (and still is!) so it was very overgrown, lush and pretty there... The landlady was cold but I really miss that house. The garden had quite a few trees as well and a small shed where I'd play with my dad's gardening tools hahah. It was always fairly shaded and almost enclosed down there from all the trees. We moved into another suburb of the capital that was even closer to the centre, and much more populated. I loved that location but we lost the garden and closer proximity to wider nature. Edited July 5 by Raskolnikov "None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free." Envy 6,370 July 6 Share July 6 I live in an apartment now, so lots of things are different. I don't have a washer/drier, no dishwasher, and my air-conditioner is a wall unit, so no central air-conditioning, no ceiling fans, and obviously no backyard. I actually am still missing quite a few things since we can't afford to ship over furniture or a lot of my other stuff yet. Everything needs more woodwind!
