Wow, some people have some really good pony backgrounds, while I have this one :S. What is really funny is the games I have on the desktop don't even work XD. Stupid wine.img-1007070-1-Screenshotfrom2012-12-1717

Are you aware that the Steam for Linux Beta is now open for all users? Of course only Linux-Compatible Games will work but the list is growing. Team Fortress 2 is currently in beta with it allowing you to run it natively for Ubuntu Linux. Although you still can use the wine version for Windows Games.

Yes I am well aware, and have tried to use the beta. I can't go on ANY games, even Linux-Compatible games. Some library file is broken, some task couldn't be preformed, and the list goes on and on. I tried fixing it and sending in support tickets, but it didn't help.

Hah, well, I've yet to actually play it.

I installed it and everything and then realized it would be a pain to try it without a mouse. :V

Did you get the steamui.so error?

And are you using a 64 bit Linux build?

I found a solution on a forum to preload this and to make sure the ia32-libs package is installed

export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib32:/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/mesa:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH/usr/bin/steam:~/.steam/bin32

after opening the terminal.

i put this at the end of my .bashrc file that is located in ~/.bashrc or /home/user/.bashrc

alias steam='export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib32:/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/mesa:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH/usr/bin/steam:~/.steam/bin32 && steam'

then i just type steam in a terminal and it works for me. I know its a bit annoying but hopefully that gets fixed in a later version of steam.

you can add it quickly by using:

echo "alias steam='export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib32:/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/mesa:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH/usr/bin/steam:~/.steam/bin32 && steam'" >> .bashrc

No, I didn't get that error, and yes I did have a 64-bit Linux build. I already downloaded those packages before (Support gave me the same) and did what they instructed and I still come up with "Library error" (Kinda stupid it doesn't tell me what library...) and a DII error. I got TF2 to show the menu ONCE, but then it crashed the whole system. But my current problem is I just swapped the videos card and my cpu tell me I have to insert boot media, and it isn't even detecting Ubuntu. Going to make sure I didn't screw up the hard drive connections, but as of now I can't even get on it. I really appreciate the help, IF I get Ubuntu up and running again I will try to re install the packages and try the second part you recommended, since support didn't tell me that.

Is this the new ati video card you mentioned before in the PC thread? if you can get Ubuntu to boot again, you may need to make sure you have the 32-bit opengl libraries installed as maybe they need to be reinstalled or are missing, the package should be

libglu1-mesa:i386

Also as you probably have been told, to make sure you have the official ati graphics drivers running.

As for the boot media problem, other than checking the connections makes sure everything in BIOS setup is in check.

My current desktop, which I organized just to take this picture (thanks for the motivation, guys :P). It actually cycles between 7 backgrounds, one every 15 minutes. Derpy and the BSOD just happened to have her time on screen when I took this screencap.
