Denim&Venöm 18,880 September 9 Share September 9 https://www.cnn.com/2024/09/09/entertainment/james-earl-jones-death/index.html It is with a heavy heart I must inform you all that James Earl Jones, the iconic voice of Darth Vader, Mufasa the Lion King and "This.... is CNN" has passed away aged 93, surrounded by his family. James was a man who you would never have thought of taking up acting, having a terrible stutter until he was encouraged to become a poet in High School. Army ranger, theater troop member, broadway actor. He could've hung it up early, but James proved you could do anything at any age. He didn't break out until he was in his forties. Even his role as Darth Vader was just another gig. Only getting $36k in today's money. Nothing to scoff at, but peanuts for an iconic role. He wouldn't even meet most of the cast members until the Star Wars re-launch of the mid-90s. His style would stay consistent until was was offered to be Mufasa in The Lion King, where he finally got to be himself as a father. He'd be the only one to reprise their role for The Lion King Sequel. Orson Wells. Sir Christopher Lee. And now James Earl Jones. Some of the great orators of our time have left us for what feels like far too soon. But they shaped generations and their work won't be forgotten any time soon. Wherever James Earl Jones goes, he can rest easy, knowing that his name will be carried on among good company. Rest In Power, James. Your legacy will live on. 6

Dreambiscuit 9,691 September 12 Share September 12 James Earl Jones was so iconic as the voice of Darth Vader, but he was also larger than life in so many ways. As a voice actor or as an onscreen performer he brought gravity to every role he played. He was powerful, and embodied strength of personality and conviction; overcoming debilitating speech disorder to become one of the most recognizable and beloved speakers ever recorded. He commanded respect by his elegance and maturity, bringing something very special to every role he played. He was a great man, on and off the screen, and he will be missed. God bless you, James Earl Jones, and thank you for making my life a happier one. 1

SearchlightRG 0 October 29 Share October 29 Was nobody going to mention Mr. Jones’ MLP role? He was Lavan in the original cartoon story “The Quest of the Princess Ponies.”
