2 sides of bronys!?!

Questioning things is good, and neither that nor not liking something means that someone is a big fat meanie-head who just doesn't understand and needs to love and tolerate more, etc. Nothing is actually on such a high pedestal as to be something that can't be both understood and disliked, as much as some would like to believe it.

I've seen what happens to fandoms where nobody is allowed to criticize and everybody is supposed to just ignore anything they don't like instead of talking about it. These people almost got kicked out of a coffeeshop for possibly having gay sex in the bathroom (two dudes go in together for like 30+ minutes, single-person), bringing in outside food and making a mess, and looking at porn on their laptops - and this is far from an isolated incident. Do you want to potentially wind up like these people, pony community?

Than I'm a big meanie for not understanding it.

At least i try.

I'm actually on your side to an extent. I agree with the idea of tolerance and shared space but nothing's worse or more damaging in the long term than people who use it to try to shut down the worries or ethical concerns of others, because that gets us out of the habit of actually thinking about things and is more likely to allow true problems to grow without interference.

Sad that it can't be kept pure but love and toleration is a must have for this fandom

The mind of the host will desperately try to create memories where none exist. Simple right?

Oh, love and tolerance! What crimes are committed in your name!

Well, not really, but I do find the saga of the "love and tolerate" mantra fascinating. It originated as an anti-trolling strategy on 4chan; the idea was that you would troll the trolls by being annoyingly nice to them. Eventually, this perfectly utilitarian idea became the center of Brony moral code. The majority of news articles on Bronies now mention "love and tolerance". And now I see this mantra collapsing. Some Bronies refuse to tolerate things that they personally find immoral, saying "We should only love and tolerate things that are morally correct." Since there is no objective moral law, this argument has been used to support claims ranging from "pornography should be limited" to "gay people don't have the right to live". Some Bronies invoke "love and tolerate" when it is improper; "You're arguing with my ideas, and that's not tolerating you hypocrite." Love and tolerance will always remain central to the Brony community, but I fear that they are becoming meaningless words rather than a message for bettering the world.

Oh, and many brohoofs to whoever can first identify who I referenced with this post's first line.

I personally love teh dark side! The shows kinda too .. bright for me y'know? I grew up with dark shows, animes, video games. It's hard to go from those to a bright show. To some people those fanfics are an escape from there lives, to show that there are worse things then what they currently live as suppose.

Where are you looking?

As far as I've seen most places are free of r34 stuff or have filters.

I'd like to thank the MLP Vector Club for the images used in my avatar.

Known as "Princess Mi Amore Cadenza", "Trixie the Great", "Tom" and "Tomzoid the EggDroid".

Pure?

Nothing is "pure", my friend. In any fandom, you'll encounter these "unpure" things.

I HAD TO FALL TO LOSE IT ALL BUT IN THE END IT DOESN'T EVEN MATTER /WRISTS

Don't think too much about it, you haven't seen the worst yet Posted Image

There will be always a dark side to everything in this world. Doesn't matter whether if an object is pure or not, there is always some weirdos behind the globe who jerked onto it. You should know where to look and what to ignore, that's all.

It's every single day with this community, huh?

If you don't like it, don't look at it. Regard love and tolerance as a joke, ignore things you don't like.

I dont have a problem with it. R34 exsists and if you have a problem with the rule you should leave the Internet right now.

You either follow the rules or you leave.

Am I the only one who has accidently found pony NSFW content just a few times in my several months of being a Brony? I find just as much searching for non-NSFW, non-pony terms on Google images.

If you Google "pony R34", then don't be surprised if you find a lot of pony R34 content...

Just curious, where are you finding it? This forum bans R34. Equestria Daily does not display or link to sexually explicit content and EqD puts warnings on all links to suggestive content. If you turn on even moderate safe-search with Google you will probably not see any R34 if you do an image search for a character's name. On Ponibooru Derpibooru the default setting for suggestive, questionable images is to not show the image directly and to put a warning on the link to the image; even links to explicit content are not shown without changing the settings.

Where ?

Tumblr.

I'm kinda tumblr addicted.

The Lyra "plushie", and now the Twi "Plushie"

I found out all these things not just now, but when I became a brony. I'm just making a discussion thread about it.

I know that r34 has no exception (even thats the motto of it), but there is just too much for a show soo young.

Far too many ...

That's what happens with popularity. Ignore it if you don't like it. Just because we all watch the same TV show doesn't mean we enjoy the same things.

I apologize for sounding so harsh, but ignoring it really is the best thing to do since it's not going to stop.

I am going to copy my post from the R34 thread for this one:

Why haters hatin' so hard?

I will probably get put down for this, but I dislike seeing people blindly saying something is disgusting or wrong when it doesn't even truly affect them. Also, I love how we pride ourselves on our "tolerance" and yet here we are beating down on people. Yes, it may be a bit strange, but isn't life strange to start with?

Honestly if it doesn't hurt anypony who in the hay should care? This is what p^#$ me off about people, they get their jimmies all rustled up over something they don't need to even care about. I mean really, what harm is it doing anyone who dislikes it. Yes, you might see it occasionally, but no one is forcing you to look at it. It sticks in your mind because you let it, no one is taking you by the neck and saying in Patrick's voice "I want you all to look at it!"

We live in a society that likes to make demons out of anything like this, yet isn't sexual attraction pretty much the most common thing humans have? We are taught from a young age that sex is a taboo, it is wrong and bad, yet it is a part of who we are. No matter how righteous we want to believe we are, we need sex. (well most of us, some people do lack sexual drive due to genetics) Humans are sexual beings, if we weren't we would die out. For all of our existance we have been having sex, drawing sexual things, writing sexual stories, pairing sex with non-sexual ideas/objects etc. etc. etc. If you look back at ancient times there are sexual stories back then that would blow the pants off of any modern one. We will be doing this sort of thing either until reproduction becomes obsolete, or we die out.

Sex has been paired with almost anything under the sun, it is impossible to escape because so much of our lives revolve around it (whether we want to think about it or not). I mean biologically our only purpose is to reproduce, so naturally sex is a big part of what we think about. Our brain makes sure we are actively seeking such, thus in our brain's wiring, sex is kept in the "pleasure center." This is where all the things that make us happy go ranging from seeing a smiling baby, to eating good food, to using drugs, to sex. These "pleasures" can easily overlap, thus many fetishes are born out of it.

Then that brings us to R34 ponies. It is no different than any other type of sexualization of an object/person, people do it to more things than I think many realize. Many see it as "horrible" because the characters are innocent, but isn't it fairly similar to if it were some young woman in their position? We have our little "thought bubbles" that we don't like to be popped, and for some I guess seeing this sort of stuff pops their bubble. Sex is sex is sex is sex, doesn't matter what kind. If you find one type of sex disgusting shouldn't all sex be disgusting? The only kind I dissaprove of is un-condoned sex, and sex with someone unable to fully realize the repercussions. (ie. children and animals) As long as it is neither of those, I don't really care much about what people do alone at night (or whenever). Why should I, honestly, I have better things to do than worry about what tickles the "pleasure centers" of others.

I am an amateur psychologist, possibly going to try to major in it in college, and I know that almost all sexual desires stem from the brain's wiring and hormones. We don't control what we are attracted to, we just are. Just like with homosexuals, there generally isn't a conscious thought of "Oh, jeeze, I never really thought about it before but I find xxx really attractive!" The pre-programmed mindset was already there, usually stemming from multiple factors. (edit: and yes some don't know until later, but it was still a biological urge they just hadn't realized yet)

I also don't much like the "don't bring it up policy" because that immediatly assigns the subject to "Taboo" which is just as bad as outright hatred, just more subtle. It essentially means we dislike it enough we never want to see it mentioned. I agree, I don't want sex plastered all over the place. I don't want young children exposed, but it shouldn't be something we need to shun. Of course this is just my opinion, society as a whole appears to prefer the "shun" option rather than trying to understand why others are the way they are (or just ignoring it when they do come across it).

I'm not saying you have to love it, like it, or look at it, but I would like to see more tolerance than I currently do.

Edit: Also, I find the idea of a "moral high ground" sort of laughable. That assumes that all sex is bad, and that sex will twist and warp whatever it touches. Sex is simply a biological, pleasure inducing, process.

Also, I find ethics and intrinsic good and bads sort of silly. There is nice and not nice in my opinion, evil is just made up in our minds, and good is not always actually kind, sometimes what is "good" is stupid and hurts more people.

Nothing is innocent on the internet. Its all fair play. Besides, the whole "Oh its so pure and made for children!" thing just doesnt work. Ever.

People have fetishes...Oh, what? Expecting more than that? Well, that's it.

Every one is different and everyone likes different things. If you cant understand that then there doesn't seem like much hope.

Pretty much this.

You all are probabbly right.

And this is not for me.

Bye.

Now I really should consider not joining any fandoms, and only focus on just what I like.

Lol!

You think that you should leave a fandom because...PORN EXISTS?

Objection! Hold it! Take that! Gotcha! Eureka!

I like video games and anime.
