If you were going primarily for traiditonal chinese, Discord looks a bit too cartoony....I'm not sure what it exactly is, maybe his eyes or snout. Hazardus_Havard. 479 July 8, 2012 Share July 8, 2012 This is somewhat unexpected to see on a site like this even with the whole pony theme around it. It's very good, a nice artistic display using the two figures. There really isn't much to criticize on the art since I usually don't deal in watercolor but I think if some color was introduced to Discord, maybe in an opposite tone to Philomena's coloring displayed, it would have evened out the painting. For some reason, just doesn't feel balanced with only Philomena colored on the bottom end and the top portion nothing. Also, less of the light blue brush spray would've been nice so it wouldn't disrupt the figures presentation so much. I do find it an awesome thought to picture these two fighting off. Critiques always help for the next time I go to paint something. My idea was to only color the eyes and then elements or something that had to do with the two of them. For Discord, it was the cotton candy colored clouds. For Philomena, naturally, it was flames coming from the wings. I do agree with the noise in the painting though. I get carried away with splatters. I would if I knew how. But I'm too lazy to go figure it out atm xD Those "kind words" don't even express how awesome this picture is. This picture deserves to get on EQD easy. I'll be doing that in the morning then.
