Donation question

I noticed that whenever someone makes a donation in US dollars, about 10% of it gets taken out, presumably for converting it to Canadian dollars. Is there any way we can donate without so much of the money going to Paypal in fees? :(

It is PayPal's payment processing fee of 2.9% + $0.30, which is charged on just about any type of transaction other than a personal transfer. I would be breaking PayPal's rules if I "sold" you the donor status and asked you to pay via personal transfer.

The closest thing to a donation you can make while avoiding the fees is to send a personal gift to me. Unfortunately, it would be against PayPal's rules for me to grant you donor status on the forums if you chose to do that.

It's easy! All you have to do is pay all of Feld0's college tuition! See how easy that is :D?

I'd love to... but I have to pay off my own college tuition first. :P

I'm actually going back soon for a second bachelor's, then a master's, so he'll probably have graduated by the time I could pay for his.
