I used to play this game non-stop when I was 8 years old, back in 2004. Good times. Gameplay was fantastic, the announcer had a Mortal Kombat-like voice (allowing you to really get into your achievements), awesome sounds, and amazing graphics for its time. Multiplayer was a real hoot, too - the arenas, the music, all made for intense matches. That being said, you would have been blowing the crap out of your friends and each other for a long time.

 

Anyone else a fan?

I have the original version of UT99 on GOG and Steam, although I usually play the UT2004 version, which I also own twice like that.

 

These games are like part of my childhood, I knew I had lots of fun playing these as a kid and still enjoy popping open this game from time to time to have a match and blow up some bots. Or when I go to a LAN party.

 

I would also say, avoid Unreal Tournament 3 like the plague it is by far the worst game of the series. UT2004 or UT99 both are very, very awesome.

Doesn't get any more satisfying than enabling the Rocket Launcher arena mutator on DM-Morpheus and blowing peoples' heads off like there's no tomorrow

Last year I got an Xbox One (the good one not the new shit one) and got Unreal Championship. And I played the living hell out of that game. Who new a 8-10 year old game could be so fun, even with bots.

Haha, love this game series and still play most of them, like UT99, 04, and 3. I also have Unreal 1 and 2

 

Though I have to say, I enjoy UT3 way more than 04, just what I got out of it. Especially those cool hoverboards.   The best though would've been UT99.
