I Created a Pony Who is Yet to Be Named.

Here's my first pony drawing. He doesn't have a name, so feel free to suggest a name and cutie mark. I didn't mean to copy the goggles from Spitfire. I'm new to MLP and didn't know about her. I hope you guys like it; I just joined and want to make a good impression. If you have any tips, feel free to criticize and such.

Have you given this pony any personality traits or have a backstory in mind? Because usually that helps others think of good, fitting names for original characters (OCs)

He's supposed to be the age of the CMC even though it turned out looking bigger, and he was coming in to live alone and be a student under Vinyl Scratch and learn the art of dub step and music.

Hmmm.... he's green, and Vinyl Scratch's apprentice.... I know! It's the perfectest name ever! "Verde Wub!"

Hhmm. He's green. Small wings. Pea Sized. It screams..."Green Bean". But like Doctor XFizzle pointed out a backstory helps to name a pony.

Also, his backstory is intended to be a bit mysterious, so what you have now is about it. I like the suggestions so far, though!

That's a cool OC. I like his color; there aren't many green ponies out there. I'm not sure about the name but I'm sure Vinyl Scratch would have some endearing nickname for him only she's allowed to use, him being her apprentice. Something related to the fact that he's young and learning music. Quarter Wub? Half Rest? 8 bit? MINI (a play off of MIDI)? These are just suggestions, though.

Ok, here's a backstory: Rainbow Dash found him while she was flying; he was in the woods making tunes with wood carved instruments and other odds and ends. She couldn't get him to talk and dragged him back to Fluttershy's. The two hit it off well, and since he was so young, she set him up to be a student under Vinyl Scratch. He still refused regular school and insisted on living alone. A few ponies built him a house on the outskirts of Ponyville, and he teaches himself from books Twilight had shipped in from Equestria designed for self teaching. Fluttershy is the only pony he will speak to extensively, and even when Vinyl Scratch talks, he only sits and listens to her teach. Feel free to make suggestions on additons. Also, if anyone is interested, I can post the original sketch for this along with a sketch for a girl pony close to Apple Bloom in look that I will finish and work into the backstory later. Thanks for all the positive and helpful feedback.

 

I chose Verde Wub. Thanks guys for your help, specifically SonOfTheNorthe. I'll post the second pony, I drew originally along side this one, as soon as it's finished and you can all name that one if you'd like.
