How would ponies react to humans coming to Equestria, and vice versa?

What you mean like the first generation MLP? That was actually a success but with little girls  Lyra will be happy, but I don't think the brony fandom will take too kindly to the idea. It's gonna take ALOT of brainstorming and creativity to even make it decent, and the only way this can possibly work is if they bring the human counterparts of Equestria Girls through the portal. NOT GONNA HAPPEN!!

Well you can find humans with the ponies, but not really in the show. It's called YouTube my friend. There's lots of fan created videos that have humans, you just got to find them. Like I know I've seen one where Spiderman comes to Ponyville, and there's the famous ones that have Dan (the Jerk) in them. As for the show though, I dought that humans will ever come to ponyville:(

Nah, humans are ugly enough, no need to terrorize little girls watching the show. And how anyway? As soon as they enter the pony world, the humans become ponies.

Frankly, that would ruin it for me. It's already awkward enough in fanfics and stuff, and it's just a concept that's simply impossible to write into an episode without it being cringeworthy.

Havn't read the thread as of this post but i think at one time the writers stated that humans would never be in mlp or at least G4 mlp who knows how the next gen will go.  I mean if we look back at G1 the ponies went to get help and just so happen to come across a human.  though in that rality the only way there was by flying(I think)

 

They have minators and such whihch are close to human, oviously there are not Centars but still.

How I always pictured it was humans would be regarded with caution for a few years, being watched very closely. Eventually being considered "good", then some faction of humans make a grab for power, over land, resources or just straight up control I don't know.

As for them coming to our world.... Humans, lets be honest wouldnt handle it to well.

Actually, considering they don't bat an eye lid to griphons with razor sharp talons walking down the street, I don't think they wouldn't be all that fussed about a lone human turning up. I think they might start worrying if they appearing in numbers though.

 

While humans could probably get used to the idea of talking horses and magic. Celestia is a different story, i'd give it about 10 minutes before they start worshiping her as the sun god. xD

Sure there will be cross cultural issues but these kinks can be worked out

The human race is getting better at controlling there destructive side Columbus was around in the 13th and 14 centuries and he behaved like crap toward the inhabitants though they were extremely peaceful we have gotten better since then least we ain't usin atom bombs anymore and even if we did we would only use them in situations that have no other solution

I see it going similar to this

 

If a pony arrives on earth he/she would either be 1 be attacked by hillbillies and forced into the ky derby

Or 2 treated well and taught about our life and culture heck we may even advance there technology for them

 

If a human found him/herself in equistria the ponies would probably be a bit cautious at first but will warm up to him/her so long as the human doesn't do anything stupid and again would be taught about life and culture

And before long we have a form of transport between the 2 worlds and we're getting to know each other well
