Background Ponies?

Octavia is something I speculated on a little:

 

She doesn't seem mad or irritated at Pinkie for disturbing / talking to the band, goes along with her plan and even after pinkie involves directly to her performance she seems more confused and surprised than angry or bothered. So I can assess from that that she is kind and forgiving pony. Her calm demeanor and expressions also speak for introversion so she is likely a musical genius more interested in music than actual popularity making her not shallow pony at all.

 

Octavia also from the little material there was out of her seemed rather into her music and enjoyed playing it with eyes closed, that means she is truly a music lover rather than a socialite pony. Her well groomed shiny mane and little bow tie in pink speak for the fact that although she is not all girly, she acknowledges her femininity and is not a tomboy.

I think she should have more screen time actually as there's much promise to her and eye just locks into her when she is on the screen, giving her immense presence for a pony.

 

On top of that I think all the fan-material making her into a whiskey binger could not be further from truth as she seems very much in control of herself as one can see from her interaction with Pinkie. Perhaps her music even provides her fortitude that more aimless personalities would seek from addictions.

I wonder if any new BG characters will become popular this season. They may have added more to choose from for this season to avoid moments where we can see 5 of the same pony!

Lol, this. I remember there were a few spots in season 1 with 5 Lyras or Bon Bons.

I know one episode like that "Fall weather friends" when Applejack and Rainbow Dash are at the starting line you can actually see three Bon Bons on the same screen one on the starting line two in the background. Edited October 17, 2011 by Applejack
