"Fae is in there, scouting it out for me. She talks to me telepathically." Starbolt replied to Lapis. "Don't worry about her, she is quite small and can easily hide. If all else fails she has her invisibility and flight." She added.

Starbolt turned to Octavinyl. "No I'm not." She told her in a serious tone.

Ruby looked terrified, she had a hard time staying on her legs without collapsing like Octavinyl had. Mutaed creatures, in the forest, eating the guards alive. "N-No way" was the only think she managed to utter.

Lapis sighed. Whatever the reason the military was there, mutated creatures weren't the first thing that popped in his head. He noticed a mare had approached them. "I wouldn't know, but it seems like there is danger in the woods." Lapis replied to Silver Heart. He decided to believe Starbolt. It was better than being in the dark about what was going on.

Penmark perks up to the sounds of the door being knocked on. Previously, he had been engrossed in a good book.

He expected soldiers, or Twilight to be on the other side of the door, but instead he finds a dully-colored colt.

Fae flew back towards the pony in the tree. She had to warn her to flee. Fae arrived at the tree and became visible. She tried gesturing for her to leave. Fae wasn't sure what to do or how to do it.

Emerald Blaze was getting more than a little disturbed by the random yelling in the distance.

'I'd probably be a bit less scared by this if there were some ponies to talk too'

He stepped outside his home, making his way around the side of the den, he located a small blade.

"Right then, I'm off to he used side of the park, maybe there'll be someone to talk to."

'Heh, I'll be fine, I've got my li'l Buck-Knife, an' it's sharpened to oblivion, Jus' slot it into my Jacket here...and...Let's Go!'

 

As he neared his destination, he noticed the group of ponies from earlier,

He managed to hear one of them talking about 'trouble' in the woods.

He shouted out to them,

"Trouble? Thats not trouble, that's death, murder, something like that! We need to be careful, I've heard..Things..From near my spot..."

He came to a stop right next to the group, unfortunately, the slight fog had obscured his view and he tripped over

a mare from the cafe,

"Umm, sorry, uh..OctaVinyl, was it?"

He said as he pulled himself up then reached over to help the poor mare.

An earth pony stallion with a blue book as a cutie mark was the only one who seemed to have heard her.

"I...see, it must be very dangerous if the military is here for it." Silver Heart said, "Do you think we will have to worry about it or will the military keep us safe? I'm Silver Heart. It's nice to meet you."

Misty noticed Fae had returned. "What do you want now? What, do you want me to...flee?" she said, trying her best to understand. Realizing this creature was clearly at least as smart as a rabbit, she got out of the tree. "Fine, where should we go? Just lead me to it." Misty took in to consideration that whatever the fairy had seen, it must have had to do with the screaming.

 

"I am Lapis Lazuli. I don't really know. I've never seen the military in action, so I completely in the dark." Lapis answered. He felt slightly helpless not knowing what was going on. It was in his nature to be knowledgeable, so this was a bit disconcerting.

"Hey it's getting really dark now. I think we should just go home now, it doesn't feel outside safe anymore." Octavinyl said to everypony as she watched the sun go down. She just kicked the ground and turned around, "Well I'll be going home now so bye!" she added as she started flying towards her house. She quickly winked at Lapis before she left. Drizzle said "Are you open the sign says open but i just wanna be sure" he said in his normal voice. Drizzle has been needing a book to read so he wont have to sit around all day looking around "May i come in?" he asked the mysterious pony.

Silently, he lets Drizzle browse the large selection of books.

"So... got anything in mind?" He says, trying to start up a conversation of some kind.

Starbolt nodded. "I'll be heading home too." She said to the group. Starbolt walked towards her home. She arrived inside and knew what was happening. She packed some potions into a saddlebag her book on teleportation and another book on advanced elemental spells. She headed to her room a lay down on her bed.

 

Fae flew towards Starbolt's house.

Thoughts confirmed, Misty quickly flew after Fae without a second thought. Whatever she was, the fairy might serve a master. Preferably one that can talk. She looked back, but saw nothing through the trees. Soon she came to a house and waited outside, in hopes that whoever lived there would greet her soon.

 

Lapis's cheeks heated up again. He waved goodbye, trying not to look embarrassed. "So, will the rest of you be going off to bed?" he asked, recomposing himself. If enough of them were going to stay and chat, he'd might as well, too. Otherwise, he'd be going home to read or maybe do some studies.

Silver Heart decided that tomorrow would be a better day for making friends and decided to call it a night. Meeting ponies was a tiresome thing for her and being near a crowd of ponies made her even more tired then normal. "I think I'll head home, hopefully I'll see you all later. Goodnight everypony."

Ruby stood where she had stopped, still with a frightened look in her eyes. She hadn't said anything else to the other ponies, and was more or less waiting to see how the other ponies were going to do.

as he unlocked his door he looked towards the Everfree forest and paused for a moment, there is something different about the forest tonight, It feels like something is...watching me. Slightly terrified he opened his door ran in and slammed it shut locking it when he was done.

I wonder what those other ponies are doing at the park, it's starting to get dark now... He wonders.

Octavinyl washed up in a nice warm shower and dried off with a clean towel. She then put on her sleeping robe and went to bed. Two things were on her mind, Lapiz and those things that Starbolt had mentioned.

Silver Heart hurried home. She tried not to show it, but she was rather concerned about whatever was in the Everfree that had the military worried. As soon as she got home she locked the door and then barred it shut. She didn't want to admit it but she was scared. She wasn't even sure why she was since as far as she knew nothing had really happened yet.
