Lapis Lazuli was torn. He didn't want to seem like a coward, but Octavinyl was right. Somepony had to do this job, and he decided it should be him. "Unless I can get a full team, it would definitely end up a failure. I'm really going to need volunteers." By then, Misty trotted into the lobby with a bored expression. "What's this about a death sentence?" she asked. Lapis responded, "I'm taking some ponies with me on a dangerous mission. I'd like you to help." "Yeah, sure whatever Blue. As long as it means I can fight zombies, I'm in. When do we leave? This place is getting boring." she said with a tone of utter intolerance for the situation. It was like the entire thing was just game to her. But Lapis needed as many ponies as he could get. The aggressive mare would just have to do for now.

Fae saw Misty walk into the lobby. 'That's the pony in the forest yesterday.' She told Starbolt.

Starbolt walked next to her. "Hello, I see you met Fae yesterday in the forest?" She asked Misty in a friendly tone.

3 of the remaining medical staff joined Lapis's scavenging team. They came armed with sharpened broom sticks and iron poles. Octavinyl organized a route for Lapis's team to safely travel to the electronics store and explained to him the whole plan, "Alright when you go out the back door of the hospital try to stay indoors when going to the store. Use alleyways and shops to hide whenever you need to." she said to them as she continued organizing more plans for the scavenging team. Octavinyl was eager to fully recover from her wounds so she can help Lapis. Her left shoulder and left back leg was still in bandages, but her wings were fully healed and were able to fly again. She would be able to fly around to help scavenge, but she would be vulnerable to any attacks. "Lapis, I am going to help you get the supplies. Silver Heart, please take control of things while I'm gone." She said as she flew off of the wheelchair.

"Oh, you were that pony who was too rude to show up when that sparkly thing led me away from the forest. Ya know it's not nice to keep an awesome pony like me waiting." Misty said with a hint of anger. She didn't really care, but making Starbolt feel bad would be entertaining. Lapis looked surprised at Octavinyl's choice to come with him. "Are you sure you'll be able to keep up? What if you get attacked?" he asked with concern in his voice. If Octavinyl was going to go with them, he was going to have to be alert. He didn't want her getting hurt. She was still recovering after all.

"My wings have fully recovered so I'll be able to fly around without any problem. It doesn't matter what happens to me, I would be heart broken to know if one of you didn't make it back. So I'll be there to make sure that all of you are safely back to the hospital." Octavinyl replied to Lapis as she started heading towards to back door in the way back of the hospital. She was determined to make sure that everypony returned safely.

'I ain't leaving this place just yet, I wanna make sure none of those creeps got in, I haven't seen any...But I've heard things...'

Emerald started back up the stairs that had assaulted him earlier. He'd heard enough in the announcement, It was time to sure-up the hospital...And annihilate those that defiled it with their disgusting presence.

'Now, where to begin? The window I came in at...I wonder if any of them found that.....'

(OOC: I have updated my previous post how Ruby got to the hospital if anyone is interested, I also added it here under a spoiler tag)

 

 

Ruby quickly made her way over the rooftops of the city, using her wings to make it easier for her to jump. Yes, she was not good at flying, but she still had wings. The fog had made the material on the roofs quite slippery, but she managed to keep her balance fairly well. It wasn't long before she could see the hospital emerging from the fog. She made a relieved sigh, but don't say hi before you crossed the river.

 

Suddenly before her, a creature made of grotesque, rotten parts stood before her. It turned its head just the moment she landed on the roof, and made a wicked grin against her and jumped towards her. With her eyes widened in shock, her heart in her throat and adrenaline pumping through her veins, Ruby swung the spear-like decoration she was holding in her mouth to try to stop the monster for approaching her. She barely did any damage, but she managed to get the creature to stop attacking - but it had caused a wound over the left part on her face. With another hit, aimed at its legs, Ruby managed to get the creature to fall of the building with a roar. Hoping no pony were down there, Ruby continued in a hurry to get to the hospital, the blood slipping from her wound.

 

 

(OOC: The wound she got was from a claw or something similar, so she didn't get infected. Just to clarify)

 

Feeling her hoofs touching the roof of the hospital, Ruby once again felt relieved, but another problem came into her mind. How was she suppose to get in? She couldn't take the front door, for obvious reasons, and she couldn't break a door or window to make ways for the creatures. She desperately tried to come up with a answer, and looked around everywhere to see if there was a way. Suddenly she saw something, a window in the roof! She made her way over to it and peeked in, seeing lots of other ponies down at what she thought was the main lobby. Oh, how happy she was to see other ponies and not creatures, and she tried to knock on the window to get their attention.

Another shot from the roof, followed by another "AHAHAHAHAoh his head is gone. Oh, vell. Now, who ELSE needs treatment?"

"Oh, I'm sorry." She apologized to Misty. "I'm going to help get supplies too." She told Octavinyl.

 

Fae was returning when she saw a pony knocking on a window. She flew next to her and saw she wasn't an infected.

Misty was dissatisfied with the reaction she got. She shrugged it off. "Okay, since we are prepared or whatever, can we go now?" Lapis took a saddle bag from a dead nurse. He silently apologized. Quickly breaking a vending machine and getting all he could into the bag, Lapis was partially ready. "Well, I have this food, but we still need weapons and medical supplies. We might not come back here, so we need as much as we can get." he announced.

Octavinyl grabbed a bag from the storage room and stuffed it with some emergency flashlights and a first aid kit. She then saw the dead nurse Lapis grabbed a bag from and started dragging the body to a body bag. She starting crying at the thought of Splinter killing innocent ponies that had devoted their lives to save lives. So she told the all of the medical staff in the scavenging team to stay in order to protect the hospital. She looked at Lapis, Misty, and Starbolt who were now in the scavenging group, "Well, let's get going now..." she said to them as she opened the back door.

Fae hovered next to the pony. 'Starbolt there is a pony by the upper window.' She told Starbolt.

 

Starbolt decided Fae could handle that. She followed Octavinyl out the door. She had her magic ready for any infected that might attack.

 

(OOC Heading to bed. Starbolt will follow the scavenging group. can control her and Fae. Oh and @SilverHeart Fae is outside the window.)

"Well...That was completely unexpected..."

Emerald had wandered around the dimly lit corridors on the far side of the hospital, staying as far as he could from the main lobby....And the beasts.., and trying to find the window he had entered by, he had stumbled upon the bodies of four, vastly mutilated

ponies, one of them had a nurses uniform on, the others had been almost completely destroyed, removing any trace of a uniform.

'Those beasts must've got in while we were all downstairs...Time to deal with them, only one or two at max though...The bodies still had some flesh left on them......'

He continued to route his way to the window he had smashed...

"Does that make their deaths..My fault?"

He said, starting to feel a bit bad about his stupidity earlier...

"Of course, I'll handle things while you're gone." Silver watched as each pony volunteered to join the group. She thought it was odd that the look out was also going, but didn't question her choice. They would need someone that could protect them while they scavenged. Silver Heart looked throughout the room. She could have sworn she had heard something. Silver Heart spotted a black creature about the size of a parasprite flying towards the ceiling. Silver Heart wasn't sure what to make of it, it looked like some kind of creature from the Everfree. The creature flew up towards a window where there was a young looking pegasus waiting to get in.

Octavinyl opened the door and went outside. The fog seemed pretty thick, but it may help hide them from the monsters. She turned back to Lapis, 'Just tell him how you feel, just in case you die.' she thought to herself as she went closer to Lapis. Octavinyl then hugged Lapis, "I know that you may not feel the same way Lapis, but I l-love you." she said to him as she laid her head on his chest. A single tear started to run down her cheek with the thought of not being able to make it back alive.

Lapis returned the hug, but he didn't say anything. His face felt like it was on fire. Love? That was a strong word. He wasn't sure how he felt about it. He didn't know what to say. The fact that in the distance monsters loomed didn't make the situation any better. Luckily for the flustered earth pony, Misty spoke up. "Hey lovebirds, could you save that kind of stuff for if we make it back alive?" She was throughly disgusted. This was not the time or place for heartfelt admissions of love. Misty's ear perked up when she heard a strangled grunt come from one of the shadows. It was time to fight. The grey pegasus charged forward, getting into the thrill of battle.

Octavinyl immediately broke off the hug when Misty spoke. She still knew that she would be vigilant in order to lead these ponies. As she unzipped the bag she was carrying, she pulled out a flashlight and turned it on. She pointed it at the incoming figure in the distance. "Let's hurry and get those supplies." she said to them as she pulled out the map of Ponyville. "Let's go this way, it'll be a shorter and much safer way to go." added Octavinyl as she started trotting into an alleyway.

Ruby saw that she had been noticed, she recognized the creature from one of her books and realized that it was a nice one. She tried to wave at the others below the window, getting a bit nervous when she spotted several of them leaving.

Lapis quickly followed after Octvinyl. Misty gave the zombie a few good kicks before flying after the others. It was best to stick with the group. Better than wandering around in this blasted fog killing zombie without knowing where she was. "Hey, how far do we have to go anyway?" she asked, zipping by the team as she caught up.

"Judging my the map I'd say we'd have to go 5 blocks from where we are right now." Octavinyl replied as she then quickly turned to Starbolt. "Starbolt I need you to have Fae quickly notify you about any of those monsters closing in on us and their exact location." Requested Octavinyl as she kept trotting towards the direction of the store. "We might as well grab any food items at the market on the way back. And hurry up you guys, we can't waste anymore time!"

 

She had came unarmed, but she wasn't planning on fighting on any of the zombies. This mission was to quickly grab useful communication devices so orders may be relayed through out other assignments.

Emerald looked around, he had reached the room with the broken window. Several of the infected had tried to climb in, So he sliced & Diced the first with the tiny knife and levitated the body out of the window, using it as a sort off club to fend off the others.

Eventually deciding to leave the room after checking to see if any were lurking nearby, he tossed the body out onto the street below and boarded up the window gap with some pieces of blitzed shelving from his earlier 'crashing' entrance.

As he piled up the last of the wooden boards, he noticed a knocking sound from back the way he had came...

"So what? They've got wings now? How is this even fair?!"

He moaned as he headed back towards the lobby, and towards the knocking.

"Fine, works for me." Misty replied, keeping ahead of everypony else. Time wasting wasn't her thing. She was a pony of action and didn't like waiting. "Hurry up ponies. We might get jumped or something." A fire lit up in her eyes as she thought about the chance to fight more mutants. The prospect was encouraging.

Earth Opal followed the other ponies, not quite sure what he was to do. He supposed he would just follow them and go along with what they said, so for now he would just stick with this plan.

"Well I feel pretty bad about risking your lives just to get some walkie talkies, but it is necessary right?" Octavinyl asked as she kept flying to their destination. It seemed that the more slower they moved, the more zombies would appear out of the fog. She flew up into the air to see ahead what was in store for them. The fog was blocking her distance of view but she was able to pinpoint a few figures in front of them, "Hey I think I can see about 3 in front of us!" she yelled to them from mid air.

Earth Opal was starting to despise these things. He wasn't even afraid of them anymore, he just wanted to get rid of them. Most of his energy being returned to him, he prepared a earth wave to go at them. But when he launched it, it turned away from the intended targets and into the woods. Not comprehending what had happened, he squinted into the mist. What he saw made him freeze in mid-step. His brother was a zombie.
