I think the best thing to start with is the cutie mark, and what it represents. So... Right now, my first thought is it should be something nighttime related, since I think bat ponies should be nocturnal. That's all I've really got at the moment. But I'm still thinking of ideas and working on the pony creator, so don't think I'm slacking!

Well, she (I'm pretty sure it'll be a mare at this point) doesn't have to be nocturnal if we can't get it to work. I just thought it'll be a nice touch, since most bats are.

 

There's always being a member of Luna's Night Guard, but that seems a bit overdone for bat ponies to me.

 

Fun fact: When I was choosing a hairstyle, I thought I found one that worked great, but a little while later, I realized I had picked the exact same hairstyle I gave Shadowhide, so I had to choose something else.

It looks great! But when I talk about cutie marks, my main concern is about what it actually represents, because it's often quite easy to build a character from that. So... What would a bat pony with a cutie mark like that do?

I know! It's so hard to come up with something!

 

Maybe it's because there's a lot of pressure to come up with something good, since whatever I come up is going to be an integral part of her character.

 

The best way to get around this might be to just list things that come to mind, no matter how bad they may seem, and when I have a few things on that list, hopefully one of the ideas stand out. Just listing ideas does not mean that idea is automatically chosen.

Thanks! Past me did some good work! Now all I have to do is come up with the cutie mark, personality, backstory... I've still got a while to go. But since I've gotten this far, consider the chance of me having a new bat pony OC to rise to 95% now. I'm dedicated now! I've come this far, so I'm not going to stop!

 

By the way, I shouldn't you be asleep now? Or are you training yourself to become nocturnal like a bat pony?

Soon you will learn the error of your ways. Stormgiggle is the most powerful being there is, and being on his side is the best way to make sure he doesn't suddenly kill you in an earth-shattering meteor or something. Plus you get perks such as a high-ranking position in his army.

I almost have to agree. It's definitely lost a lot of it's charm. I haven't been dethroned in a long time. But it's not my fault! My foes have just gotten too incompetent and aren't trying anymore!
