Since it seems we have a Nintendo thread, might as well make a Sony one. I guess just discuss anything Vita/ps3/psp here! So who got the Ico pack? Is it worth buying? I am kind of on the fence since I played Ico before. But I have never played SotC.

If you liked ICO on the PS2 it's definitely worth buying for the PS3 just for that game alone. It's exactly the same as the European (superior) version except in high definition and trophies give you something to work for (like beating ICO in under 2 hours) and Shadow of the Colossus is just as good if not better than ICO in my opinion. You still have the epic, artistic, and lonely feel but with 100% less hand holding and 20% more epic battles.

yeah I have been wanting to play Colossus for a while. I have some extra credit at gamestop maybe I will pick it up when BF3 launches.

Okay, this is a pretty cool ad.

 

 

I like this newer approach. Instead of a lot of bashing on the other companies, they show this kind of respect to the customers and try to make their products the best they can be. They don't shove the assumption "We're the best thing ever" in your face, but rather imply a sense of greatness. Hiding a bunch of easter eggs helps, too.

 

I'm sure another stupid Jack Tretton quote will come along to attract hate (he's a tool, that's just how it is. I'll still play the games), but this gesture is appreciated.

I definitely want it, if not for the sole reason that it doesn't need a big-ass peripheral that costs a ton of money to have a second joystick ala Monster Hunter 4 on 3DS.

I'm really excited for the Vita! I may not get it when it's released, but I'll definitely get it after my birthday. (march) Kinda hoping for a new MGS to be announced for it! That'd make it a done deal!

I'm still on-the-fence about the Vita. It looks like a really good device, but I don't think that enough games are coming out that appeal to me to justify the purchase. Yet.

I got pretty good mileage out of my PSP; hopefully the same will ring true with the Vita. Not going to buy one until there's a decent number of games released for it that I'm interested in though. I've never bought a console or handheld anywhere near their release date.

 

... though I guess I did import a Japanese DSLite before the American release.
