"That's what I wanted to do anyway," he muttered, nodding one last time to the officer before heading back in the direction he had come back from to make it look like he had been going somewhere specific earlier. As soon as he got into the alley, he stayed calm, keeping his energy under control and continuing to go to the other side of Manehattan. He arrived at a relatively busy street and kept watch, once again looking for another victim, this time without interruption.

An alert light flashed by screen 20. It was connected to the security camera in the bank. Lapis sighed. It was just another robbery. Shaking his head, he returned his gaze back to screen 6. He was just in time to see the unicorn cut himself. Mildly shocked, he watched closer to see what the stallion had planned. He had said something about bleeding, but the audio was still acting up. Illegally tapping into traffic and security cameras meant that the quality was not guaranteed. The black colored alicorn stalked off and was gone from view. He'd find him later. He would make sure of it.

Jack held his bleeding leg to his mouth and whispered, "Follow him, don't let him out of your site." In response, a clump of blood squirmed out of his leg and fell to the floor. The clot sproted eight long legs and scampered in the direction of Demon Opal. It was no larger than a bug.

Jackson had been in the library all day, he had found a book that might finally tell him what his powers mean and where they came from when an alarm went off at the bank.The alarm was followed by an explosion of magic energy. He saw one pony drop some money bags and then get flung back by the explosion and he quickly assumed that this pony was the crook. He went up to the pony who was now trying to get up. "And just what do you think that your doing?" Jackson asked the pony.

Clayton shook his head. "And just what do you think your doing?" Said a voice above him. Im minding my own business. He said giving the pony a crazed smile and standing up. Why do you think its your problem ?

And im going to give you some very good advice, Don't be brave, or it will get you killed. He said with his eyes wide open and grinning at the pony.

"You seem to have some interesting talents... controlling blood by talking and being able to sense power levels... tell me, what specifically are you?"

Nightfall was still a bit suspicious, as he felt he should be. But he hoped he wasn't intruding... he could be able to find criminals by talking to this pony, and eventually make a big bust.

Octavinyl finally woke up and got out of bed, she yawned while rubbing her eyes. She washed up in a shower and got herself ready for her new job. It was great that she was going to be working at a smoothie place that had opened recently. She was excited to meet new ponies while working there, so she put on her black colored music headset, and wore her favorite white hoody sweater that had a black eigth note on it. As Octavinyl Octavinyl locked her apartment door, she rushed out of the apartment building and flew straight to the smoothie place. 'My new job at the smoothies place sounds like so much fun!' She thought to herself as she giggled and played a song from her MP3 to her black headset. Nothing seemed dangerous as usual so she kept flying to the area.

 

Meanwhile in a small building somewhere in the center of Manehattan a group of figures wearing suitd and fedoras were around a wooden table, while under a lightbulb. "Alright listen up my little brothers. There's new gang in the city who are threatening to take us down, but we're not gonna let that happen are we?" Scratch Tavi asked as he turned to his loyal henchmen. "No big brother, we'll clean em up real good." "I'll squash them like a bug." They replied as they got themselves armed. "Kill them all." The 'Godbrother' replied as all his henchmen went out on cars for a search and destroy mission.

Lapis heard something of 'interesting powers' and 'blood'. This might have been what he'd been looking for. He made a mental note of the unicorn's appearance. Finally, a chance to see what his powers were capable of. He rubbed his chin thoughtfully. It would have to be the right moment. Somewhere public. Where no one could get in his way. He needed to push his abilities to max. He'd tried in private, but it lacked a certain element. The fear in a pony's eyes thrilled him to no end. Sadly, Lapis only seen it in the eyes of his former assistant, but it was enough to fuel him to seek it out. "Time and patience, that's all I need. Whatever this pony can do, it should make things interesting."

Octavinyl noticed a police officer talking to a strange colt and another stallion joined in on the conversation or rather was pulled into it. She decided to ignore it and kept flying, her mind was on the music from her headset until she heard an explosion from the distance. Her wings dashed her quickly to the scene, there was a lot of commotion but she asked a nearby pony about what happened, "Hey do you know what just happened here?" she asked a bit frightened, things like this never really happened in Manehattan.

 

Just then gunfire was heard just north of where she was at. It was Scratch Tavi's henchmen, they had 'cleaned' up what was the gang that tried to oppose them.

Now that there was another witness, Jack's options were limited. Obviously he couldn't kill either of them, or tell them the truth. Both options were unthinkable. He took two quick steps back and said, "I wouldn't suggest you ask any further questions. You see I detest being forced to kill ponies that I do not wish to be dead." He turned around and walked to the opposite street on the other end of the alley.

Lapis watched screen 6 for another minute or two, hoping that the unicorn would return. He still didn't know what that pony could do, but he had time. He hadn't revealed himself yet, and no one suspected anything of the abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of Manehatten. Also, his secret taps had yet to be discovered. In short, he was completely unknown. A smug grin crossed his lips as he made a smell ball of energy appear on his hoof. The glow of it filled him with such joy. The ball quickly disappeared, and Lapis returned to his screens, in hopes of spotting the alicorn from before.

Octavinyl tried to ignore the bank robbery that was explain to her and went to work. She went inside the smoothie place and put on a pink uniform apron over her white hoody sweater. Though she still kept her headset on, just in case she was bored. 'Well this is the first day at work so I'd better try my best! Strangely there aren't a lot of customers here today, but oh well not everypony likes smoothies.' She thought to herself as she started blending a smooth beverage.

 

As Scratch Tavi's henchmen came back from killing an enemy, Scratch Tavi was feeling strange. "There's something wrong with this city, things didn't seem so intimidating like this." Scratch Tavi said to them as he went upstairs in the building. "Big brother, there's a guy who works at the pizza place who hasn't paid the money." Rain Storm said to him as Scratch Tavi turned back. "Kill him."

Silver Heart woke up and went on her way to work. Her stomach growled as she walked down one of the streets. She had skipped out on breakfast today and was regretting it. There weren't really any food places between here and the clinic, however there was a smoothie shop open just a little out of the way. Silver Heart decided she would try to grab something there. After walking into the store she walked up to the counter, quite glad that there wasn't a line. "Hi, could I get a medium strawberry banana smoothie please?"

The bug watched Demon Opal from beneath a park bench, just as its master had ordered. Its single eye was fixed on him and an alicorn isn't difficult to spot.

 

Jack sat himself down on a park bench and clenched his wounded leg. The pain could be dealt with, but the cut did give him away in a crowd.

"Oh bonjour, a strawberry banana smoothie? That is my favorite type of smoothie, but I'll get working on it!" Octavinyl replied as she started putting ingredients into the blender as best as she could. After a few minutes of blending the the ingredients she took the container and poured it into a softdrink cup. She then smiled and handed over the smoothie, "Comment t' appelle tu? Je m'appelle Mademoiselle Octavinyl. Comment vas-tu?" Octavinyl said to her. Edited August 29, 2012 by Octavinyl

Screen 30 caught a glimpse of the unicorn. He was headed for the park. Here was Lapis's chance to have a little fun. He had a feeling that the unicorn would be resting after cutting himself. Unless of course he could be resistant to pain, but Lapis felt it was worth the risk. He removed his flamboyant outfit and left the safety of the abandoned warehouse's basement and took in the light of the outside world. He only went into the city to get food, so he was at least somewhat familiar with Manehatten, especially with his camera taps. Luckily when he got to the park, the unicorn was still there. He went up to him and looked him over. The live footage hadn't been too fuzzy, so he was easy to recognize. "May I ask what the problem is, sir?" he asked in a cordial fashion, "You seem to be hurt."

[Nightfall 3,950]

Nightfall could help but think of his strange encounter with the unicorn. Soon, he found himself outside a smoothie shop, and a bit hungry. He opened the door and walked inside. There was only one other person inside, making him question why, on a good day as this, were there no more ponies inside?

He waited at the counter, looking at the menu, until a smoothie he thought would taste good caught his eye.

Jack jerked is hoof away and covered the wound. Everything about this new Stallion was off-putting to him. "I don't know you," he said in his usual, confident voice, "Now, either give me a reason to care about your existence or be on your way. My time is valuable."

Octavinyl turned to the police officer she had seen earlier talking to some stallions, "Oh bonjour monsieur. What would you like to order sir?" Octavinyl said to him as she smiled and got a notepad to take his order. Things seemed much better now when nothing strange was happening. "Comment t'appelle tu? Comment vas-tu?"

Lapis snickered darkly. "Time, my dear pony, is valuable, isn't it? I've been watching you, and I noticed something odd. When you cut yourself earlier, what was it you whispered?" he asked, revealing a humorless grin. The way the unicorn jumped to the defensive immediately after being asked what was wrong amused Lapis. He clearly had much to hide. A normal pony would have made up an excuse and shrugged it off. But this one tried to hide his obvious wound. The artifact embedded into his chest glinted briefly with anticipation. If he could provoke this stallion, then he could analyze the unicorn's abilities before showing his own powers.

"Trust me, you don't want to challenge me." Said Jackson preparing himself for an attack. He served the area to find any natural attacks or defense he could use if things got out of hand. There was sharp glass and a few slabs of concrete that would serve as a good weapon. "Go ahead," Said Jackson, "Make a move." He finished with a grin.

Truthfully, Jack was concerned about how he knew so much, but instead of showing any signs of concern, he turned away from Lapis and grunted, "So you've been watching me. You still aren't worth my time. My ordeals do not concern you, and if they did, you'd probably be dead." He let go of his leg once more and let the blood flow to his hoof. He stood himself up.

"Merci. Je m'appe...sorry my French is...well nonexistent. I'm Silver Heart. It's nice to meet you Octavinyl. I've never seen you in here before. Are you new?" Silver Heart asked as she placed the bits she owed on the counter. Silver Heart looked over and saw a police officer.

"Yeah, today is my first day on the jobs, but it's always nice to meet some new ponies." Octavinyl replied as she turned to Silver Heart and took the bits and put them in the register. She then gave her the receipt and looked around the whole cafe, but it seemed pretty quiet.

Lapis realized if he didn't act now, this unicorn might be hard to find later. Throwing caution to the wind, he shot a bolt of energy at the stallion's hooves. He had wanted to play some games first, but this would be just as fun. "Are you surprised? That an earth pony can cast magic? It's all thanks to this lovely gem." He pointed to the emerald looking thing fused to his chest. "With it, I can preform a certain type of magic. I can harness the power of inert raw energy around me to generate bolts of plasma. You're probably wondering why I'm even telling you this. If I end up killing you, I don't want you to die confused. Now, if I'm correct, you are able to do something with your blood. Care to fight back?" Lapis stood back, readying for retaliation.
