What makes Earthborn better? They dehorn those who's cutie mark is magic, which is physical abuse.. well, let's see.

So yeah... oh and you can't just slice a horn with a sword. It's a bone. Not even a modern axe can cut through a bone, a small one with a wierd shape with such ease. No matter how strong a person would be, it would just damage the neck of participant more, the stronger you would be. You can only smash it or saw it off very slowly, both ways of which are incredibly painful and genocidal in most cases.

I'm guessing you'd have to be very strong and very skilled with an ax to be able to cut off a unicorn's horn or ANY bone is particular! That, or they use a guillotine. But if they used that, then couldn't they just cut the head off with the horn intact?

 

They definitely can't have a novice pony do the job, otherwise it wouldn't be very quick and it would hurt like heck for the pony whose head is being hacked off.

 

Though Earthborn would probably be sadistic when doing their job...

To sky warden and Jolteon, ponies are only turned into smiling dolls if they betray the cult of laughter, I believe that my Oc Tondrak creates most if not all of the smiling dolls for the cult. (You can ask The sonic Alicorn about that) Unless Jeolteon's Oc was just trying to intimidate Sky warden's oc.

Well in real life, some swords have been known to be able to cut people in half, through flesh and bone. Nothing says that a unicorns horn would be stronger than regular bone. Also earthborns equipment would be rather high quality with there blacksmith work.

She uses her MOUTH, her neck would SNAP first before she could deliver such a kinetic energy. And hooves are in no way would allow for such a precision strike. And even if Aj is so strong and awesome, i do not think she does all of that herself. So it's either smashing in or cutting off slowly. So, pick your poison so to say.

Couter points: we have already determined that ponies can use there hooves just as good and prescisely as human hands, as seen in the show. They just cant charge into battle since they need there hooves to walk, since they were prisonners Applejack could take her time to cut there horns. But in a sence you are right, but more or less the general idea yorick had, is that earthborn will remove the horns of unicorns

Still, horn is a little thing usually on the top of the head. Due to it's small size and length it can easily slide off (The sword) and just scratch it. Or you can cut it not on root, but somewhere in the middle.

I actually just wanted to say that even the Spartan Xiphos could hack a limb clean off. This dates back incredibly far. I doubt it would have required much to actually get a clean strike separating horn from head. It would still be agonizing  as that is where many of the nerve points end, and there's also the trauma, and the possible hemorrhage. You get it.

I'm modding Stormwing and I partake in classical stdies, of course I'm going to talk about them all high and mighty even if they aren't really. I just hope that our lack of numbers doesn't come back to haunt us. Every Hoplite lost is a major blow.

That's probably why an Earthborn-Stormwing alliance works out in a lot of ways as Earthborn provides the manpower and artillery while Stormwing can provide elite units where needed and use lightning strikes on key enemy positions. If you've ever played Warhammer 40k it's a bit like the Space Marine and Imperial Guard dynamic; Space Marines are elite troops meant for quick assaults and high-risk missions but lack manpower while the IG have a lot of artillery and men but aren't quite as effective with their baseline troops.
