So I have this problem with the episode, "Boast Busters," that everyone keeps bring up. When Trixie is facing the Ursa minor, that she is doing it to protect Snips, Snails, and Ponyville, but I don't see that. What I see is someone who is now facing their lie and is just fighting to protect the lie. Trixie is only in it for herself.

So why do people keep supporting this little lira anyway?

Good question TC. I also struggle to see why people support Trixie. She is nothing but an arrogant, attention-seeking loser.

Well, like sharp said, she's a complex character.

She could be protecting her lie, but she really had two options, to run away as soon as the Ursa appeared, or to try to at LEAST distract it. She pretty must lost everything she had because of her lie, but she at least tried to face it.

Meh, she could be trying for heroic reasons, the problem is that there is nothing really in her character that would suggest such noble intentions. I could be biased though because I've never understood trixie's popularity.

I never really liked Trixie all that much however,If you really think about it she was trying to help. When the Ursa came Trixie tried everything she knew but failed at it.

Although the way she acted before that whole incident makes her the worst kind of mean meanie pants there isPosted Image

"Why, am I not royal enough for you? Don't you know who I am?"

Ooh! Ooh! More guessing games! Um... Pokey Smokes! How about Queen Meanie? No! Black Snooty, Black Snooty!

because for some unknown friggin' reason, the brony community thinks that trixie is the best fucking character ever. People don't want the narcissistic bully to be an antagonist, so they make up things like this. It's the same damn thing with people bitching about mare-do-well being bad because she "humiliated" Rainbow. Bronies just tend to sympathize with the arrogant.

I'm pretty cool. I think.

Also, new OC (it has a cutie mark this time!).

The Great and Powerful Trixie had a sad and woeful day. Her boasting was part of her show persona -- not that her actual persona was that much better. She did try ineffectually to help, and she lost everything she had except herself. I think her punishment was a lot more than her sin of hubris.

I think I'll quote a conversation me and @ had back a few weeks ago, it pretty much summarizes everything I feel about this topic.

Her attempts to defeat the Ursa Minor definitely weren't for the safety of Snips, Snails, and Ponyville. She did that as an attempt to keep her fame and actually try to hide up her previous lie.

@@Scootabloom,

Well she knew she couldn't do it, but it didn't stop her from trying, she knew she'd probably loose her life in an attempt to save them, because she well knew she wasn't the powerful unicorn she claimed herself to be. xP

She does have guts, yes. I completely agree. However, that goes to show how much her pride means to her, and only when she had all odds against her did she admit that she had been lying the whole time. Also, why do people keep thinking this, she clearly didn't do that to save them, her only intention was to boost her pride and fame. Maybe, just maybe, getting lucky enough to defeat the ursa minor and get become even more of a Great and Powerful Trixie than she already claimed to be.

Well she knew she lied, so there was really no reason on her to try to defeat the Ursa, the reason I said she was saving them was because she looked afraid, she looked unsure, yet she stood in front of them and tried to do it.

I guess. "The Great and Powerful Trixie never gives up in the face of danger. After all she has saved the town of Hoofington from a Ursa Major!"

That actually made me start laughing xD

I doubt she had ever been in contact with an actual Ursa Minor/Major, considering she mistook the minor for a major (you know that already let's get to the point) She has an ego, and to protect her ego she said that, but if you're in a life or death situation, it's best to let go off the ego, don't ya'h think?

Yea, I commend her for actually giving up in the end on her pride and admitting to it, however, she then proceeds to say, "You may have defeated an Ursa Minor, but you will never have the amazing, show stopping abilites of The Great and Powerful Trixie!" *boom*. She's gone. So clearly she just gave up when it was absolutely necessary, but then went back to the same ol' Trixie we all know and love (or hate.) Some people never change, ya know? XD

I still love Trixie though, definitely my favorite villian (if you could consider her a villian, though in Season 3 she probably will be based off of the leaked picture).
