Because I am lazy and didn't feel like looking for the "good paper"

and i really wanted to draw a pony for some reason.

 

I just noticed the tack in his ear looks like an earring.

Well, aren't you lucky?

You now have the first piece of artwork that will be critiqued professionally by me.

So then, let's get started.

Description:

 

The pony you have drawn is pleasing to the eye at a glance, but there is much work to be improved on. Before we get to that, we need to talk about the important stuff.

 

You need to get a scanner. Looking at a drawing through the camera of a phone/webcam is unpleasing, and it will usually turn off anyone who looks at it. Not to mention, you need to draw on either printing paper, or a sketchpad. I realize you stated you did not want to find good paper, but in order to have a pleasing drawing, you need to put forth the effort.

 

Now, onto the drawing itself. I would like to congratulate you on the lines you created on the main portion of the mane and the scarf. You kept it looking real and flowing, for the most part. The bottom tips of the mane, and the entire tail are off. You drew the lines too thin, and made them both look irregularly misshapen. Not much to say about the scarf, other than the portion around his neck looks extremely odd. Almost like you drew it by looking at the rings around Zecora's neck.

 

His backhooves are way too rounded. Look at the back left hook, the one in the foreground. You made him look like he can't even keep up his own weight by the way he is standing. The backhoof is the same way. With the way you drew it, his tail comes out of his rectum. Not a pleasant image in my mind.

 

His eye is drawn quite nicely, save the fact he has no defining qualities within it. His mouth is quite peculiar looking, and I quite like it. His ears aren't too bad either.

 

Judgement:

 

The best part of this piece is the lines atop of his mane and the main portion of his flank.

 

The weakness of this piece is that his hooves are oddly formed, some of the lines are too thin on his mane and tail, and the portion of the scarf around his neck looks like rings.

 

You have great potential in the drawing world. Keep it up.
