Favorite Non-Fast Food Restaurant

There was a topic about fast food joints, now let's get down to the "classy" restaurants! :P

These are restaurants not CLASSIFIED as a fast food joint.

I think my two favorite sit-down joints are either Denny's or Applebee's. Denny's has the best breakfast and lunch menus while Applebee's has the best appetizers (their wings are the shit) and the most delicious deserts (COOKIE SUNDAE!!). I really don't eat out a lot either, so anytime I go to either one of these, I'm automatically in heaven. :P

Sit-down resturant? Are there resturants where there aren't tables where you can sit down? Here in Sweden more or less every resturant has some kind of table where you can sit at.

The Malt Shoppe. It's a little burger joint in my town. They make the best burgers you'll ever taste in your life. (And it's a bit out of the way, so tourists won't find it.)

I've gotta say, there's this really old place, that's still pretty good. It's called Mum's. It's a bit old fashioned but with a twist really. Yes, it's repetitive, but don't fix what ain't broke, right?

But in seriousness, I don't have a sit down restaurants, They just take too much time.

This one is a tad less creepy. Wouldn't you agree?

Should have been more clear. Basically, a restaurant that's NOT classified as a fast food joint lol. :P

So like no McDonald's or Burger King.

An Italian and Mediterranean food place owned by a friend of the families called Victorio's. Funnily enough, in some of those pony billboard pictures that became popular online, you can see another restaurant he's added called Victorio's(though he doesn't run that one), but has since shut down due to the American economy.

Well ok, you only see it in the one.

Anyway, everything is made from scratch there. His pizza ruined all other pizza for me.

There was that place called ponderosa, as steakhouse but the best part was the unlimited salad (as well as other stuff) bar. As a kid i was thrilled at the ere rumour we were going there. Sadly the place closed down a few years ago, no other restaurant has taken its place so far.

Yeah! My area used to have a Ponderosa too but they closed it down due to health violations. When I went there, food wasn't that great, but it was cheap and affordable.

Health violations...

maybe red lobster was better after all

I seem to have a thing for steak/seafood restaurants.

Also i learned a lesson lately: avoid jello cubes at buffets.

I tend to avoid "all you can eat" buffet joints in general. There's just something really sketchy about leaving food out for hours and hours and expect some poor fool to eat it at an incredibly high price. I like food given to me comfortably warm and fresh, not something that's been sitting there and collecting dust haha.

I remember there was a subway commercial that parodied your buffet concerns. They were mocking those lamps they used to keep the food war but it just makes the fried chicken look greasier. Yuck!

Haha, yeah! I remember that commercial too, now looking back. Even at fast food places, I hate it when they give me chicken or fries that have been out for like a half hour and then when I eat them, they just taste stale haha. I'm real picky when it comes to quality of food, trust me. :P

I'm a breakfast guy, so my favorite restaurants are the one's that can serve up a mean breakfast. To that end I prefer Cracker Barrel, Shoney's, and Golden Corral. Golden Corral has the biggest buffet I've ever seen, and the food is of exceptional quality for a buffet because they're constantly bringing out fresh food. They have to because it doesn't take long for people to devour everything in sight. It's also the only breakfast buffet I know of with a full dessert bar.

Shoney's serves some good breakfast dishes, but I still go for the buffet. It doesn't have as much as Golden Corral but the quality is good and it has all of the staples for an American breakfast.

Cracker Barrel is my favorite. There's no buffet, but they have enough to choose from on the menu; it's all good, and I love the atmosphere, especially in the winter. That rustic cabin look, the roaring fire, and a hot cup of coffee make for the best start to a cold, snowy day. I could also get those things at home on such a day except for the old-timey look but if I was out and looking for something to eat I would stop at Cracker Barrel.

For lunch/dinner, Red Robin. Great burgers and lots of them. The only side dish they serve are french fries but they're thick and unlimited. Finish a basket of fries and they'll keep them coming. I like to get a particular burger that somes with avocado, pinapple, and onion straws on it and wash it down with a cold beer.

There's a Ponderosa in my town, but it's the only one I know of within 50 miles. The buffet at that one is lousy, and about 10 years ago some guy got shot by a sniper in the parking lot.

There was this place I've been to once.

It had an all you can eat buffet, with every freaking one of my favorite foods.

It had tacos, sea food, Chinese food, burgers, and a crap ton of other stuff.

And the deserts... My god there was so many.

It was like heaven on earth.

But... I forgot the name and location of that place.

Which means I can't go there

I want to go there so much...

Honestly, how can I not remember the name...? :(

Lamberts Cafe will have to be my favorite. Their meals are ridiculous, like order a salad and get a garden....

They are also home of the thrown rolls, so you simply yell "Hey waiter! Roll!" And they chuck a roll at you. It is rather funny, and even more funny when they nail someone. (As long as they don't get hurt, but I don't see people getting too hurt by getting hit by a roll :P)

They also have a nice atmosphere, but the wait is ridiculous, so you have to reserve at least a hour before eating.

Ruth's Chris. Dat steak. Also you feel like a fancy fuck.

Also this Vietnamese noodle shop in my old neighborhood, it was quite good for the price. (the average meal was only about $2-3 more than fast food, and way better)

there's a restaurant out near my Granny and Papa's farm that I love called Ann's Cafe. there's nothing super special about the place, I just love it for nostalgia reasons. I used to go there every day when I visited my grandparents, and our trips out there usually lasted a month or so.

favourite restaurant based on the food? hm, I'm not sure what the name of the place is, and I think it's long since closed down, but I ordered a hot dog there once, and it was the most amazing hot dog I had ever laid lips on ;~;

I would say this place in Disney's Polynesian Resort called Ohana. Everything there is amazing, and they just keep bringing it too you. It's basically all you can eat steak, chicken, pork and shrimp, along with these dumplings, noodles, and other stuff I can't remember.

I like eating at these two places:

One is a family restaurant called Jamaican Grill, They offer great tasting Jerk Ribs and Jerk Chicken, and as they say "Ya mon! Serious Food!" I love it.

Another place that I like is Fujiichiban, where they offer ramen, and other Japanese favorites, one of my favorites is the Taiwan Ramen, which has a spicy miso flavor, and another one is yakisoba, a tasty dish of fried seasoned noodles with a variety of vegtables and meat, it's the best yakisoba I've ever tried.

And yes, I'd say those are two places you must eat at if you ever come to Guam.
