Some ideas of mine.

Some ideas I have of stuff I'd like to be changed/added.

Note I do not know if all these things are possible or things like that.

Oh also. I know alot of these things have already been discussed.

• Change Mailmare's badge to something that will show it's a bot.
• Change Mailmare's avatar to the old one.
• Change the subscribe button to "Donate" as it was before and allow users to do a one-time donation.
• Change the "Subscribers" group at the bottom of the frontpage to "Donators" and put them on the same page but in two lists showing "Subscribers" and "One-time donators"
• Make a theme which has no background and makes the page wider like in the IP board theme, but it still keeps the banner.
• Make it possible to add users to a "favorites" group (or maybe like "best friends") that is only visible to yourself. Everypony knows we have our favorite users, and when you have 50+ ponies in your friend list it would be much easier to have a list with ponies you like the most. Maybe even add the option to get notifications when they post in certain sections?
• Have a timer at the top (where the notification and message button is, but maybe more to the left) which shows how long time it's left until forum events such as Synchtube fridays. (Because they're easy to forget and miss.)
• Make it possible to limit answers in polls that has multiple answers enabled.
• Make it possible to look who posts the most in different sections by pressing the "X replies" text to the right, like you can do when you look at top posters in different topics.
• By default every thread is sorted by "Recently Updated". When sorting topics we can go to custom -> show topic type ->sort topics by "Topics I replied in" or "Topics I started". I want something called "Topics friends started" and "Topics friends replied in" so we can find topics friends have posted in or created.
• Have a reset button for member titles which resets your custom title to the default when pressed if you don't wanna keep your custom title after your donor status has expired.
• Have a button somewhere on the forums you can press where you can pic a radio player to popup. Maybe Everfree Radio and Celestia Radio? (http://everfreeradio...mediaplayer.php , http://ponify.me/player.html)
• Make the "Report" text show "Delete" instead on your own posts. Because the only reason why you would press Report on your own posts or threads is if you want it to be deleted. To be serious, who reports themselves for breaking the rules..? Again, only on your own posts. Not on others.
• Allow Xbox Live Gamertag and Playstation Network ID to be put on the profile in the "Contact information". I mean Steam is there. But no console contact? That's racist!
• A way to sort your own posts by amount of brohoofs. Kinda like the "most brohoofed content" but for your own posts only. I've asked this here http://mlpforums.com...eived-brohoofs/ and Feld0 have said it's up to the ips to fix a feature like that, but I never really got an answer. Feld0, did you ask them? Ask again.
• Add the "Moderating team" in the Community dropdown menu.
• Make Jokuc king of the forums

That's pretty much it :3

 

Again I know some of these things may be not possible, but hay, why not ask?

A lot of this stuff would require a fair bit of custom development, which would fall to our resident chicken who is... already extremely overworked and has a to-do list that reaches the moon. I'm a bit strapped for time, so I can't address everything, but for now...

Make it possible to add users to a "favorites" group (or maybe like "best friends") that is only visible to yourself. Everypony knows we have our favorite users, and when you have 50+ ponies in your friend list it would be much easier to have a list with ponies you like the most. Maybe even add the option to get notifications when they post in certain sections?

 

This is possible via the following:

 

• Disable the setting that allows other people to see your friends list.

• Require manual approval for people to add you to your friends list.

 

I honestly don't see a need for a second "real friends" list in addition to the friends list. I personally make no apologies for the fact that I don't add everyone that sends me a request.

 

Have a reset button for member titles which resets your custom title to the default when pressed if you don't wanna keep your custom title after your donor status has expired.

 

This is fairly easily resolved by just submitting a trouble ticket requesting a reset.

Eh... honestly seems extremely unnecessary given the easy with which you can simply navigate to one of those sites in another tab.

 

Make the "Report" text show "Delete" instead on your own posts. Because the only reason why you would press Report on your own posts or threads is if you want it to be deleted. To be serious, who reports themselves for breaking the rules..? Again, only on your own posts. Not on others.

A number of people have, in the past, reported their own posts for a number of things - recently, for example, someone reported one of his own posts for abusive behavior because he realized that he had gone too far with an argument and decided to fess up and face the consequences.

The sad reality is that our ability to deploy custom forum hooks and such is extremely limited - we simply don't have the manpower available for a lot of large scale modding; as such we have to make sure that any new forum hook that is developed is one that will be well worth the time and resources needed to see it created. I have to agree with zoop here,

 

Scootacool is already at his neck with work, and feld0 is currently working hard on pony.fm

 

A lot of these features seem...I don't want to sound rude...but just stuff that is kinda tacked on, features that really require some time and are not worth it in the long run.

The friend list system is useless and that feature won't make it any better. Just more work without any profit.

I want people who like me to add me on their friendlist and I want them on mine too. But I have some people I talk more with than others and I want quick easy access to them. But okay you seem to be against it. Is it possible to add an option to follow users then?

Of course it's unnecessary. But it's not really much work to make such a button, neither do I see why it would be something bad. It'd be a shortcut. Like having shortcuts on your desktop to programs.

If it's not something bad and not requires alot of work, why not? It feels like alot of people on here are against really small unnecessary but cool features just because you don't see what's so good with it.

Yes I think alot of people would like this, it has already been brought up with alot of positive feedback. Not from the mods though since they see it as something unnecessary which I certainly doesn't.

As said to Zoop I like shortcuts. I think this would make more people listen to the radio station also. Which means more discussion about pony songs.

I think that would be a cool feature too. I'm kinda surprised it isn't there already actually, I mean since we can look at the most brohoofed content on the whole forum, then why not have something similar for our own posts too?

I agree with Jokuc. T'would be a nice feature to have. I mean I have quite a few popular posts and it would be nice to see which ones get more likes then others and things of that nature.

I was going through my brohoofed posts an hour ago, trying to find which one had the most out of sheer curiosity. This would sure make things a lot easier xP

Another button to sort your most brohoofed posts would be up to IPS to implement. It sounds like a decent idea to me, so I'll pitch it to them directly.

Just because a few moderators like a particular concept doesn't make the concept itself any better or worse than if they weren't terribly interested.

I guess you got Skype or any other communication programs?

This is a forum after all and not Facebook. You can add people on Skype, and communicating with them will be even easier.

Allow Firefox users (which is a majority of users) to be able to switch themes (which is probably already in process anyways )

 

Allow us to brohoof status updates and comments to status updates.

 

Have a page that showcases the top blogs, and another page that shows art, commisions, and requests.

 

I'm basing most my inspiration from Simtropolis forums, which also runs IP.Boards, and it has many of the same features I listed.

What do you mean? Chrome users can only change "theme" (banner and buttons) if they download that app Neikos made. It's not even official.
