@@Steel Accord,

Personally, I find the "no mount" part to be the most painful.  Rolling a class with speed boosts mitigates it somewhat, but not by much.  And yeah, that leveling DOES become a chore after a while.  I just RP to keep going though my IRL shyness apparently doesn't leave me in-game XD.

Even the RP doesn't really off set it as A ) hardly anyone of my level wants to, B ) most of the characters I listed are much less defined, and C ) as further evidence of how much he is me, it's hard for me to shake myself out of the Wei persona and into another one.

I run into that problem from time to time as well.  It's something I try to make a conscious effort to go away from.  Of course, I have a hard time being a social butterfly and an even HARDER time being a jackass.

One of your characters is a jackass?

@@Steel Accord,

Well, there was this one character in my guild who did something bad (involved warlock stuff and souls of the dead.  Long story) and the whole entire guild was being cold at best and hostile at worst IC.  I as my rogue was the same way...  Then I immediately reverted to nice mode afterwards because I felt so bad.  XD

@@Akari of Duskshire,

Yeah that's the blurry line of role play that borders on becoming uncomfortable and therefore not fun. Not only playing a legitimately evil character or one who's morally flexible enough to take unambiguously evil actions to achieve an end, but also having the social fallout heaped upon them . . . and by proxy, you.

In some ways I almost applaud that, apart from some NPC guard chatter, you don't hear a lot about Warlocks actually being treated as that barely tolerated necessary evil they allegedly are. Presumably suffering from the same case of class identity fading into the background since they made the auto-training patch as everyone else, but even then there are entire areas that feel very class heavy.

Darkshore is rife with Druids and most of the quests are about maintaining or fixing the balance of nature upset by the cataclysm, the Plaugelands have an entire quest chain involving the adorable "Paladin Pals" trying to join the Argent Crusade. Where's the cave in Outland that hosts of coven of Warlocks trying to draw upon the latent and still present demonic energies to fuel their own power?

@@Steel Accord,

Well, considering Legion is coming, let us hope they get their time to shine along with the demon hunters ('cause honestly, it's a given that the latter is going to be quite prominent).

But what about priests?  What about SHADOW priests?  Where's their class-heavy zone?

And speaking of priests, what in the world do you think is going to be their order hall?  They seem to be more... variable than paladins.

Well yeah, same deal with them. Although I suppose you could argue that they have the Cathedral on the Alliance side, and the more naturalistic priests of the Horde have many smaller shrines. Which does bring to mind, the Tauren have priests, shaman, AND druids! I understand they are a very spiritual people and all but I'm willing to bet the clergy class actually outnumber the believers in their people! Other races have similar combinations of variations of "holy man that communes with higher power."

(Not a serious address, just something I noticed when rolling a new Tauren character.)

(THE main reason I'm hyped for Legion is the heavy class emphasis if I haven't said it enough.)

Oh?  How so?

Also, I came across this picture.  Now picture yourself, in a small hamlet, off to buy bread, see your training instructor, perhaps even gather flowers for that special someone, then you see this come up the street.

@@Akari of Duskshire,

Just that it's not like they have one class that could theoretically be their races spiritual guides, they have three, four if you count the Sunwalkers. Then again, I guess the playable classes don't necessarily reflect their demographic representation in-universe, and it's not like us in reality have even one kind of religious vocation even within the same faith. (For instance Ayatollah, Allamah, Imam, Marabout. That's four clerical titles within Islam alone.)

My response would be something along the lines of "good evening officer." What reason do I (as in Wei Yu) have to fear from a Knight of the Silver Hand?

@@Steel Accord,

Well, I personally think that there are still more warriors and hunters (using general terms here, not class terms) than there are folks involved with the spiritual side of things.  Then again that's just me remembering those caste systems we always had to study.  The smallest group on top were the priests, next would be the rulers, the officials, and other politicians.  Then there would be the warriors and artisans, then the unskilled workers, then the "untouchables".  I believe it's the Hindu caste system I'm remembering.

What if you heard screaming and you saw blood on his hammer?

@@Steel Accord,

Minalin would probably try to get Wei Yu outta there.  Mainly because she had seen those looks far too often to think it's something else.  Chenoa would notice, but wouldn't act solely based on that (that is, if Chenoa were of some Alliance race and not a tauren, even if she is officially neutral XD).

Well IS it something else? I don't know the context of the picture. I assume it's Arthas burning Strathholme which obviously is a different context than the scenario you proposed.

Then one spell later and we have ourselves a lovely DK!  :D

Onto something else...  I wasn't the only one who held on to the Memento of Tyrande after I got it from defeating Illidan even after I got better gear, right?

Oh I hold on to a shit ton of gear with sentimental value. My bank is more loaded with low level quest gifts than anything I actually use.

Soo, I and a friend finnaly got to make new characters on the RP server Argent Dawn.

I am now a Dwarf shaman. Bringing thunderous vengance and the power of the elements upon all.

We will also waste all our gold on stout, beer, axes and everything that makes a good dwarf.

I will probably reach level 100 in a few days/weeks. xD

That sounds like a load of fun, and damn I'm envious of your ability to level that fast.

Its quite easy. Just go to your favorite inn and stay there inbetween dungeons and while logged out. Rested bonus gives a tiny bit of exp and inns can supply you with more alcohol. xD

That is, when you are not in one of your favorite leveling spots.

I usually do quests normally during the WoTLK level range.

Heirlooms do wonders too..... Here we are talking almost double exp.
