gaming Nintendo 3DS/XL

This is for those who own a Nintendo 3DS/3DS XL or are interested in getting one. What do you think of the system? What about the games? which 3DS model do you think is best?

 

Personally, I think the 3DS is the SNES of portables. S many good games, both from Nintendo and third parties. And the eshop as really grown. The 3D is really immersive. Games like Resident Evil: Revelations and Kid Icarus: Uprising really show what the handheld is capable.

 

I used to have the Flame Red 3DS, but then I upgraded to the Red/Black 3DS XL. Imo, the 3DS XL is certainly the superior model. Better grip, battery life, etc.

I recently traded in my 3ds for the XL and let me say it is a must!! The XL is what the 3ds should have been all along. It has a long battery life, the 3d works a lot better. All in all i am very satisfied with it! I just wish they had a Green/Black 3DS now that would be badass

Agreed. 3DS XL is definetly the better model. All games look great on it. I can't wait for Fire Emblem: Awakening and Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon!

I would highly recommend a Nintendo 3DS. It is well worth the money. And be sure to check out the eshop games. the eshop has alot of high quality titles, like Pushmo and Mutant Mudds.

I'm very aware of that, but I still feel like the 3DS lacks games that I trully care for, it has an evolution since the weak start it had, but I feel that I need more games.

Well i went into gamestop to sell my xbox 360 cables and etc.. and I traded all that stuff for 85$ in store credit... the guy who worked there was surprised too xD!. I also brought my 3DS with the box and stuff. I got the 3DS xl for like 45$ and got like 3 games for it. I got the Kingdom Hearts Dream drop, mario kart 7, and star fox 64 3d. So I got really lucky that day

I think we have a store called "Game Masters" which sells the games in very expensive price tags and they give you crap for the things you want to "trade". http://mlpforums.com/public/style_emoticons/default/dry.png I'm jealous of that, 85 for just a bunch of cables?

@@Motion Spark, Personally im not a fan of gamestop.... In my town we have a place called Mckays: Used books, CD's, games, etc. and that is where I usually get my games, and music etc. It is a awesome place and their prices are cheap!

 

I shop here all the time!! :3 love this place

I'd really like a 3ds xl, it came out pretty soon after I got my 3ds so yeah I was a little aggrivated lol. It stretches the games a bit but it's not really very noticeable, especially with the 3d turned on.

Not yet, but soon But yeah even if some of the library doesnt interest you at the moment, it will surely grow over time. Did I mention that 3DS is getting Super Smash Bros.?

I bought my 3ds on launch day and I am quite happy with it. I just find the XL models defeat the point of a handheld and I prefer to use the smaller models. I don't have too many games for the 3DS, but they are all fun ones.

I might purchase paper mario, but I am not keeping my hopes up. I might just hook up my old N64 and replay the original instead if it gets poor ratings.

The 3DS is great! The XL might supposedly be better but I like the portability of the original plus more colors(I got purple). I only own Resident Evil Revelations currently but it's a very meaty game anyway, still playing it. Next I plan on getting Kid Icarus Uprising, Super Mario 3D Land, and Rhythm Thief(have the demo for it and I'm absolutely addicted ). So yeah, great system especially if you want lots of console quality games on a handheld.

I haven't really thought about getting a 3ds at all to be honest. But there is quite the list of games that sound like they would be awesome. Problem is I don't really have the money to aford it. Even for Christmas I don't think i'd have enough and if I did i'd have nothing for anything else. Plus I'm kinda a conservative spender.

I agree that the XL is the better model, although I have a 3DS and I'm staying with it, I have small hands so it's strange for me to hold one.

I fell in love with my xl since the day I bought it! Upgrading from a launch DS, the screens look amazing, and the two games I bought for it (Ocarina of Time and Kid Icarus) have been a blast to play so far.

 

Besides those two games only a few others interest me at the moment, like Code of Princess (which looks shallow) and Devil Survivor Overclocked. I look forward to getting Etrian Odyssey IV and possibly Luigi's Mansion when they come out, but besides those, not much else looks appealing.

 

I'm really looking forward to a sequel to Solatorobo though, hopefully it'll come out on the 3DS, but I'll honestly be happy with it being on any console, so long as it gets a US release.

fell in love with my xl since the day I bought it! Upgrading from a launch DS,

I also have the lauch the DS and let me tell you, this guy is a warrior, it fell countless of times, it has scratches everywhere, both screens are diying, they both have dead pixels everywhere, but my little guy refuses to die, sadly I don't play with it anymore because my router is not compatible with my DS.

I should get to play with my DS again before I get a 3DS

You know I have had ever Nintendo had held except the GB pocket, and I must say I love my 3DS even more then my first GB though I felt old when a kid in my local Gamestop pointed at GBA game and saif "Is that a DS game." I said "No that's a GameBoy Advance game." and he asks "Whats a GameBoy?" Y_Y

I only ever really have a problem with my first two 3DSs that was only because my first sufer for the top screen scratch problem were the lower would scratch the top and the replacement had a problem with street pass. The one I am using right now has been soled. ^__^

I think my favorite 3DS game has got to be Mario Kart 7. I've had it for nearly a year now and I still play it whenever I'm bored or waiting around for something. Definitely one of the best Mario Karts out there.
