Motion Spark 7,807 November 16, 2012 Share November 16, 2012 I have had these phylosophical thoughts, and I think that I still have, but it's impossible to get answers, and to be honest it's too complex and I don't like to think that much, I have problems wording my thoughts, which are pretty confusing already I don't want to confuse myself even more... so I'll stick with we born, we reproduce, and we die, and that's it, anything outside of that is out of my boundaries. We still live in it, and unless Morpheus shows up at your house and hands you some pills, there's no way to change that. I mean, it would be cool to know, but matters of perception can't be proven, so no matter what, you'll never actually know. One of the conclusions I’ve come to is that even if this is some sort of odd dream, or illusion, I don’t really care because it’s not a bad one. My life really isn’t that bas so if this is a dream it’s just fine with me. However, I do believe in the Multiverse theory, I do believe that our universe is not the only one in existence. My basic theory is that all the things you go through in life are added to the experience pool of your soul. When you die those experiences get added and you then get reincarnated to gather more experience and knowledge. Of course reincarnation doesn't work in a straight line and you can be reincarnated before you die... as I said its an odd theory. So, what do I think the purpose of a human is? I think of it as eat, sleep, reproduce, die, and destroy. So as a human being living, life is unfair and unforgiving. But with afterlife, that could be another story. In fact, there is now theories that are being studied by scientists that souls could actually exist. One of the simplest (yet still difficult to wrap ones head around), is the idea of an infinite universe. If the universe is truly infinite, then everything that is physically possible will happen an infinite number of times in an infinite number of places. There are an infinite number of earths exactly like this one, an infinite number of earths where I went and bought milk this morning instead of using my roommates, an infinite number earths where I didn't just pause to scratch my head, and an infinite number of earths for every single thin that could ever have happened to earth ever. If you believe that the universe has existed and will exist for an infinite amount of time, it gets even weirder. Of course, we're pretty sure the universe isn't infinite, so we don't have to worry about this. Another alternate universe idea is the Many Worlds Interpretation. I'm sure you've all heard, at least in some small way, of quantum superposition? If not, have you heard of Schrodingers Cat? Superposition, in a nut shell, says that until something observed (measured, looked at, perceived in some way, etc.), it is occupying all possible quantum states. When observed, the system "collapses" into a certain quantum state and we see it. Superposition has been verified by many experiments. The Many Worlds Interpretation says that for every possible quantum state, there is a separate universe, and when a state collapses, what is actually happening is the universe is splitting into multiple universes, for each possible quantum state. Unfortunately, these universes are not connected, and as far as we understand physics now, MWI can't be tested. I still think it's true, though. 1 Signature now 99% less edgy! I don't think this is some dream or illusion. What i've come to think about dreams is that maybe they are actually not dreams at all. Our small human perception may see them as "dreams" or just some thing in our heads when we sleep, but perhaps they are something more? I do believe in the multiverse theory, and what i've realized is perhaps these dreams are maybe sometjing as of windows into these other worlds. I probably sound like a loon right now but its just something i thought of. Maybe when we are dreaming our concious is in another universe are perhaps just viewing another universe. Like dreams are some seperate universe. And there are an infinate number of universes i believe. So maybe Equestria is out there somewhere. Anotherthing i've wonder is if we can somehow connect these universes. Or if they are already connected? Like if wormholes somehow bring us to different universes or something. It would be an amazing accomplishment if we were essentially were able to travel to another reality. Though idk if we ahve the technology to do so today. As for a meaning of life, i'm not sure what that could be, or if there even is one. Or if there was, idk if we are actually able to know it. i do believe in God though, and perhaps he does has a plan for us, but as the saying goes "Even the best laid plans, can often go awry." Idk. As for an afterlife i do think its possible. very possible. Our concious has to go somewhere, maybe it goes to someother world. Maybe we can be reincarnated as a pony? heheheh. So, are we really figments of someone's imagination, is everything that we see really real, or is it just fake? In the end, we will never know, because this is the world we live in, the world we see and the only world that we know. In the end, whatever we experience here is real, wether it's fake or not. For us, or at least within the definition of the word "real", it is real. And we will never know if this is all just a dream, we don't know, but it doesn't matter either. A more positive thing to think about: Everything we do will create another alternative timeline, so there's one timeline, or actually more timelines, where you are always making the right choices. Where you are practically Charlie Sheen in terms of succes. Go you! Has anyone meditated? More precisely performed a deep meditation? I don't know why but for some reason there is this state I get into where everything seems to make sense, literally everything. As if I know and completely understand everything. But whenever I get out of the meditation I seem to forget this all, no matter how hard I try it always slips away. Up until now this has happened to 2 of my friends too, and one of the two isn't even in meditating at all. It seems so strange that this state exists, does anyone know what causes this?
