Guitar Solo Thread

Hello Everypony!

 

Despite not playing the guitar, I am enthralled by the skill and talent required to play the instrument. This thread is designed for those who have found a guitar solo that simply melts their face off. All genres are allowed. Just post a song that you'd like to share with everypony that contains an amazing solo.

 

To start things off, I'll post this song:

I used to be HUGE in watching and playing guitar. When I used to have a music-minded life, I would spend hours a day on youtube watching videos, or playing. There are a couple videos that have always stood out like no others.

 

This first one is from a guy that used to just cover music, played guitar style. He NAILED the Terran theme from Starcraft and every now and then I catch myself going back to just rock out.

 

This last one is from someone you may have already seen, he runs a series called "..... meets metal" and just a metal-styled version of anything and everything.

..."And Metal Makes it All Complete."

 

 

As far as it is for music though, I don't listen to new songs... I just know some old classic rock. Stepping away from the obvious like Stairway to Heaven and most everything from Ozzy, I am a sucker for lesser known songs/groups or under appreciated.

Clapton plays a fantastic solo on that song. He's what really makes it complete, and is really the reason why While my Guitar Gently Weeps is my favorite Beatles song.

 

And to keep the thread going, I love everything about this song, especially the solo.

Yes, I agree. He is near the top of my list of all time best guitarists. It's just a tad upsetting that with this newer generation, they get old and more forgotten. The Beatles will always be known, but it's coming to pass that people now a days know the name and not the music. You know what? More for us!

This is melodic doom metal, so not everyone will enjoy it. But it has some beautiful guitar work in it. Start listening around the 12:40 mark. It builds to a mellow, yet beautiful solo and fades out with an even more beautiful solo.

Oh, no doubt. I don't mind listening to new music. I try and listen to everything when I can. It's just that even with good music coming out, it's hard to filter it out from all the other jazz. It's hard to keep up with a lot of it, most my new music comes from the radio. I've got a top hits station I listen to now. But yeah, I have heard GREAT music these last couple of years, and from any era of music. That's why I enjoy listening to everything and genre, it never gets old. But it does sometimes get very gummed up...

I love Draconian. Nice choice of music right here. It's beautiful. And a great guitar solo to boot!

There's no question that Jimi was a god with a guitar in his hands. I wouldn't go quite as far and say that all these guitar solos lack soul though, but yeah, Jimi was by far the most soulful player I've heard.

Dethklok has some great solos for a comedic band. Did you happen to pick up the newest Dethklok album, Dethalbum III? It's amazing, and I'd highly recommend it.

I think someone might have posted this song already, but I really love the solos in this song. This is probably my favorite Megadeth song
