Are the CMC Maturing?

When I saw One Bad Apple, I saw that when they're all excited for Babs to come Scoots flew a little bit. And then Sweetie Belle used her magic even if it only made a small firework/spark. Is it possible that the CMC are staring to mature?

On the other hoof, why is it that Sweetie Belle can only now use her magic while Pumpkin Cake, within months of being born, could use her magic to actually levitate herself? is that one of the magic surges that Rarity and Twilight warned about?

If Scoots can now kinda fly, and Sweetie now use her magic, does this mean that since they're maturing they will get their cutie marks soon? Half of me wants them to, and the other half doesn't.

Because Pumpkin and pound cake are Babies. Pumpkin can use magic because she has not yet gained the intelligence of looking for a cutie mark, and just has fun. Compared to sweetie belle, who is looking for a cutie marks and is just doin it for that. Pound cake can fly because the wing to body proprtions are equal, whereas scootaloos wings have not grown since childhood, so he wings cant hold her weight.

I think the cmc wont get their cutie marks on the show unless its like a last episode ever special or a movie or something where they wrap up everyponys storys, like twilight becomes an alicorn or a princess or somthing, rainbow dash joins the wonder bolts, the cmc get their cutie marks things like that. If the cmc got their cutie marks in the show they wouldn't be the cmc anymore and would become secondary characters, Since atm they teach that you should never give up on something no matter how many times you fail.

Twilight Sparkle explained that new-born unicorns may experience bursts of magic, but they don't really do anything with it or control it.  And Pound Cake's wings are able to support his body weight; and for all we know, he may also be a prodigy and a strong flyer in the future.  -shrug-

 

Scootaloo was originally supposed to be handicapped anyway.  And there's really nothing wrong with that.  I think it's great and inspirational   But that doesn't mean that she isn't able to lift herself off the ground for a few moments . . . she just can't go very high or very far.  Same with Sweetie Belle and her magic.  It was just a spark; and yeah, they probably are maturing anyway.  Character development and all that.

In some sense yes. Sweetie Belle can slightly use her magic but Pumpkin Cake can use it but without control (We'll take Twilight as an example while in her exam she had a burst of uncontrollable magic!)...

Scootaloo could always fly slightly, how else does she stay in the air for extended periods of time on her scooter?

Sweetie Belle is using magic for the first time we've seen, and Scootaloo did a bit of hovering so, I must say they are maturing.

During some sort of show (which I believe was official, considering the setup and I believe they had voice actors there) involving MLP, like a convention of some sort . . . there was an MLP poster that showed Twilight with wings.  Not exactly full-blown alicorn, but like, a young alicorn; so not as tall, matured, and slender as Celestia, or even Cadence.

 

Makes me think that an alicorn's build may allow you to gauge its power.  Celestia is older, more powerful, taller, and more slender than Cadence, for example.  But nevermind that right now.

 

Sorry, my explanation isn't very strong; yes, it's rather vague, but that's because I personally do not have many details on the manner.  I just read some things, and saw some things.

Whatever the case, I really hope that they DO mature, and very gradually increase in size over the years, and perhaps by the end of the show be the same size as the Mane 6. I don't want this to be one of those cartoons where the characters just stay thee same size for years and never advance. Also, the voice actresses are relatively young, so their voices might change a little bit over the years. which would be odd. I think that I can already hear a little bit of a difference in Sweetie Belle.

 

Showing Sweetie do magic has never been done before. So I think she'll probably start learning soon. A Sweetie Belle episode where she tried to master levitation could be nice.

For one, if you look at that part before the close up, it is clear that she is just jumping and flapping her wings at the same time. This is not flying. Also true she did hover down, but she could have  use been landing on the ground after her jumping.

 

As for the question of maturing, I am going to say no to this to. For one the way they were going to deal with Babs was not tell anyone and get revenge on her in away I still don't get. 

 

So they aren't maturing. If anything Sweetie Bell using magic and Scootaloo doing that hover thing is just a sign that they're getting older and they are just starting to unlock their powers.

 

Now for the Cake Twins. Pound body is still small, so his body can lift him up. Still I think his super strength could also be making his wings stronger giving him permeant flying.

 

It is said that Pumpkin would have outburst, but during the episode she was doing a lot of different types of magic and towards the end it looked like she had full control over it.

 

If anything the twins are prodigy.

I generally ignore the Baby Cakes episode when thinking about the whole flying/magic thing anyway. Even though you can kind of explain a bit of it away, the whole episode just felt off.

 

It would make sense for them to want to advance the CMC in their use of abilities, just so that they have more ideas to play with when it comes to making episodes if nothing else. Sweetie's use of magic would have been a pointless addition if they don't have plans for it further down the road and while Scoot has hovered before, she was doing it more frequently in this episode.

 

Cutie Marks are probably still a way off yet though. 1 step at a time and all that.

Yes I think they are maturing but they are doing it very slowly which is good because if they do it too quickly then it will limit what can be done with them far too much. I think they will all get their cutie marks eventually but I think it is going to be a while and will likely not happen until toward the end of the series.

They're slowing growing. Sweetie Belle's little magic burst was a hint and so was Scootaloo's little flight. Scootaloo maybe on her way to flying now.

She wont be. Because the only relation she has to any form of royalty is that A: her brothers married cadence and B: she celestia mentor. Plus considering how old The sisters are, who said shell  be alive to see them pass on their powers to the next in line?

I agree with you on maturing. Maturing is a part of learning , but it also be that they can act the age. They should have just gone to Applejack and told. That would have the mature thing to do, instead of taking revenge and stooping to her level.

 

Also the way the post is that the way they are maturing is by only using magic and flying. That is why I said they are growing.

  i woudnt call it flying id call it using wings to  hop sorta like in other episodes just a bit more intense  ..... but they are sorta maturing but its proably gonna be very slowly like 2 seasons more before they get ther cuite marks (in my opinon)

I totally want Sweetie Belle to end up with pyromancy skills! How cool would that be? It needs to happen. I've seen it in a few fics but I think it should be canon
