How do you keep the inspiration going?

I do some writing and singing, but I'm wondering how a lot of these artists keep it going, I always run out of things to write/sing very quickly. Any ideas?

The universe is a vast, possibly unending place which is full of inspiration. You just have to learn to see it. You have to think outside the box and realize that art can be about anything with the stuff of revelation in it. This is where you get things like incredibly emotional poems about simple things like shoes or a ladybug. It's impossible to run out of inspiration if you realize that everything is wonderful and ready to be captured as art, and you can look at anything from millions of different perspectives. If you want to see where other people tend to find inspiration, there is already a topic for that.

Inspiration for me waxes and wanes. One minute, I'm writing/drawing amazingly, and with loads of ideas...

 

The next, I'm just like... "Why?"

 

It's actually kinda annoying.... Sometimes music helps, sometimes art helps...

Just don't force it. When you say: "I have to write a song, it is so important", you won't be able to write something, But when you just sit down, relax, say "Let's write something" and just keep your mind going.. think of this, of that, nothing special, just some relaxing.. suddenly you have an idea. Write it down. And then see how it develops.

 

Just don't force it. Writing something has to be fun, remember?

inspiration is a tough thing to put a finger on. what inspires you one minute will disgust you the next. i keep mine going by finding music i love, looking at tumblr pages of users that like the same things as me, i keep alot of hobbies going, etc. 

 

im not a photographer, but ill take a picture of something if it interests me and i like the composition at the time. theres a reason such things as inspiration rooms and mood walls exist. you set them up with anything that inspires you and you rotate it as you gain or lose interest in the particular items. ill give ya an example. im big into cars, so i have a wall in my bedroom of photos from various magazines of ideas and designs i liked. seeing the pictures helps keep my mind on the project i plan to do as well as gives me future direction should i get lost in the details. 

 

inspiration and passion go hand and hand here. you cant find one unless you have the other.

Music. Dubstep for me (Skrillex if you're wondering). It works so well, Music gets you into a good mood and can inspire you to do you're best!
